Lewis Hamilton is a British racing driver and joint-record seven time Formula One World Champion who has scored 103 pole positions in his career and currently is the all-time top-polesitter. He took his first pole position in his rookie campaign at the 2007 Canadian Grand Prix by outqualifying then-teammate and double World Champion Fernando Alonso by 0.456 seconds, and subsequently converted pole position into his maiden Grand Prix victory in Formula One.
