- اليهودية والمسيحية والإسلام والدين البهائي، إلى جانب السامرية واليزيدية والدروزية والرستفارية، كلها تعتبر أديانًا إبراهيمية لأنها تقبل التقليد القائل بأن الإله (المعروف باسم يهوه في العبرية والله في العربية) أظهر نفسه لإبراهيم. تشترك الأديان الإبراهيمية بالخصائص المميزة نفسها:
* كلها نشأت من الأديان السامية في منطقة الشرق الأوسط
* كل تراثاتها اللاهوتية متأثرة إلى حدٍّ ما بتصوير إله إسرائيل في الكتاب العبري
* كلها تُرجع أصولها إلى الأب المؤسس إبراهيم. فالإله الإبراهيمي بهذا المعنى هو مفهوم الإله الذي لم يزل خصيصة مشتركة بين كل الأديان الإبراهيمية. يعتبر الله في هذه الأديان واحدًا، أزليًّا، كامل القدرة والعلم، وخالق الكون. يشار إلى الله بالضمير المذكر فقط، ويوصف أيضًا بصفات القداسة والعدل وكمال الخير والحضور. يؤمن المؤمنون بالأديان الإبراهيمية أيضًا أن الله مجرَّد، أي إنه خارج الزمان والمكان ومن ثم فليس خاضعًا لأي شيء من خلقه، ولكنه في الوقت نفسه إله شخصي، منخرط في الحياة، يسمع الصلوات، ويرد على أفعال الخلائق. تختلف الآراء بين دارسي الأديان في تصنيف المورمونية أهي منتمية إلى التراث المسيحي أم هي دين إبراهيمي مستقل. صنف بعض العلماء حركة الرستفارية المتنوعة التي يرجع أصلها إلى جامايكا حركةً اجتماعية دينية عالمية، ووصفها آخرون بأنها دين إبراهيمي مستقل أو حركة دينية جديدة. - El judaisme, el cristianisme, l'islam i la fe bahá'í es coneixen com a religions abrahàmiques perquè accepten la tradició del Déu (anomenat Jehovà en hebreu i Al·là en àrab) que es revelà a Abraham. Comparteixen diversos trets característics:
* es desenvoluparen a partir de de l'Orient Pròxim
* les seves tradicions teològiques beuen en major o en menor mesura de la descripció del Déu d'Israel a la Bíblia hebrea
* tenen el seu origen en el Abraham En aquest sentit, el Déu abrahàmic és el comú de totes les religions abrahàmiques. És concebut com un ésser etern, omnipotent i omniscient i com a creador de l'Univers. Així mateix, se li atribueixen les qualitats de santedat, justícia, i omnipresència. Els creients de les religions abrahàmiques creuen que Déu també és transcendent, és a dir, que està més enllà de l'espai i el temps i, per tant, , però que alhora és un déu personal i compromès que escolta les pregàries i reacciona a les accions de les seves criatures. - The concept of God in Abrahamic religions is centred on monotheism. The three major monotheistic religions of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, alongside the Baháʼí Faith, Samaritanism, Druze, and Rastafari, are all regarded as Abrahamic religions due to their shared worship of the God (referred to as Yahweh in Hebrew and as Allah in Arabic) that these traditions claim revealed himself to Abraham. Abrahamic religions share the same distinguishing features:
* all of their theological traditions are to some extent influenced by the depiction of the God of Israel in the Hebrew Bible;
* all of them trace their roots to Abraham as a common patriarch. The Abrahamic god in this sense is the conception of God that remains a common feature of all Abrahamic religions. God is conceived of as one, eternal, omnipotent, omniscient, and the creator of the universe. God is typically referred to with masculine grammatical articles only, and further held to have the properties of holiness, justice, omnibenevolence and omnipresence. Proponents of Abrahamic faiths believe that God is also transcendent, meaning that he is outside of both space and time and therefore not subject to anything within his creation, but at the same time a personal God, involved, listening to prayer, and reacting to the actions of his creatures. Opinions differ among scholars of religion on whether Mormonism belongs within the traditions of Christianity or whether it amounts to a distinct Abrahamic religion. The heterogenous Rastafari movement with roots in Jamaica is classified by some scholars as an international socio-religious movement, and by others as a separate Abrahamic religion or new religious movement.
