En 1999 logró el récord de 33 partidos consecutivos sin perder dentro de una misma edición del campeonato nacional de Primera División. A nivel internacional, ha sido el único equipo chileno en ganar la Copa Sudamericana en 2011, de manera invicta y como el mejor campeón en la historia del torneo y el segundo de los organizados por la Confederación Sudamericana de Fútbol, con un rendimiento del 89 %.
