- Tom Romeo Coronel (born 5 April 1972) is a Dutch professional racing driver. Tom's twin brother Tim is also a racer, just like their father Tom Coronel Sr. His most important results are winning the Marlboro Masters of Formula 3 race in 1997, the Formula Nippon championship in 1999, and the 2006 and 2009 World Touring Car Championship Independents' Trophy. As of September 2016, Tom Coronel has driven over 1,000 races. He is currently still racing in the WTCC, where he won his first WTCC race in Okayama, Japan in 2008. After competing as an independent driver in a SEAT for many years Tom switched to BMW in 2011. In 2014 Coronel stays with ROAL Motorsport, but the team switched to Chevrolet Cruzes to be built by RML specially for the new TC1 technical regulations. Even though he has no official factory backing, Tom is no longer considered an independent driver, due to his experience and results in the past.Tom has also been racing for the Dutch Spyker Squadron in the Le Mans Series as well as the 24 Hours of Le Mans for many years. Furthermore, Tom is often invited to join one-off races like the 24 hours at the Nürburgring. (en)

- Tom Romeo Coronel (Naarden, 5 april 1972) is een Nederlands autocoureur, uitkomend in het wereldkampioenschap voor toerwagens, het WTCR. Coronels tweelingbroer Tim (wiens tweede naam Alfa is) is ook coureur, evenals hun vader Tom Coronel sr. De motorcoureur Bertus van Hamersveld is hun grootvader. Bertus stond volgens Tom model voor 'Bertus met de Norton' in het lied Oerend Hard van de band Normaal, maar zanger Bennie Jolink zong in het lied aanvankelijk over 'Gertman op z'n Norton', als ode aan de coureur Gerrit Wolsink. Coronel neemt sinds 1990 deel aan races in verschillende klassen, eerst in Nederland later op internationaal niveau. Zijn grootste succes behaalde hij door in 1997 het Japanse Formule 3 kampioenschap te winnen, alsmede de International Masters of Formula 3. Aan het eind van 1999 heeft Coronel een paar keer getest voor het Formule 1-team Arrows en was een serieuze kandidaat voor een plekje bij het desbetreffende team om in 2000 F1 te gaan racen. Dit ging echter op het laatste moment niet door. De jaren hierna heeft hij zijn CV flink uitgebreid met vele races in verschillende kampioenschappen met name de ETCC, WTCC en sinds 2018 WTCR. Hiernaast reed Coronel ook races in het FIA GT kampioenschap en de Le Mans Series. Bovendien reed Coronel verschillende malen tijdens de 24 uren van Le Mans met onder andere Racing for Holland van Jan Lammers, Johansson Racing met een Audi en Spyker. Ook deed Tom Coronel met zijn schoonvader , die met een Benetton B197 uit 1997 racet, aan de Euroboss series mee. (nl)
