Dabei wird jedes Objekt (Dokument) gemäß seiner Schutzwürdigkeit und Gefährdung einer Schutzstufe zugeordnet. Die einzelnen Schutzklassen bilden eine Ordnungsrelation, das heißt sie unterteilen die Objekte in „Schichten“ .
