- وسط بيروت أو منطقة بيروت المركزية (بالإنجليزية: Beirut Central District اختصاراً BCD) أو سنتر فيل أو داون تاون هي الاسم الذي يطلق عليه المركز التاريخي والجغرافي لبيروت، «المركز المالي والتجاري والإداري النابض بالحيوية في البلاد». في قلب العاصمة اللبنانية، وهي عادةً ما تركز على الأعمال التجارية والمالية والثقافة والترفيهية. كما تدعى بالـ«سوليدير» نسبة إلى الشركة التي قامت بإعادة إعمارها بعد دمارها في الحرب الأهلية. وهي منطقة أثرية متوسطة في العاصمة حيث توجد فيها العديد من المؤسسات المالية والتجارية والإدارية اللبنانية. تقع على الساحل الشمالي للمدينة وتجد فيها العديد من المعالم المهمة لمدينة بيروت مثل مرفأ بيروت، ساحة الشهداء، السراي الحكومي ومبنى مجلس النواب اللبناني وفندق سان جورج. يقع على الساحل الشمالي للمدينة ويمكن الوصول إليه بسهولة من جميع أنحاء المدينة. ويشمل ذلك ميناء بيروت المجاور ومطار رفيق الحريري الدولي. تتلاقى الطرق الرئيسية فيها أو من الحدود إلى الشرق والجنوب والغرب، أو تصطف على الواجهة البحرية بطول 1.5 كم (1 ميل) إلى الشمال. خضع حي بيروت المركزي لخطة شاملة لإعادة الإعمار والتنمية؛ بسبب الدمار الذي لحق بوسط المدينة من الحرب الأهلية اللبنانية، ما أعادها إلى وضعها الثقافي والاقتصادي في المنطقة. أقرت الحكومة اللبنانية رسمياً خطة رئيسية لإعادة إعمار المدينة في آذار/مارس 1994، بعد سلسلة من الدراسات التفصيلية والندوات العامة والمهنية، وفي 5 أيار/مايو 1994، قامت سوليدير الشركة اللبنانية لتطوير وإعادة إعمار منطقة بيروت المركزية بإطلاق أكبر مشروع لإعادة التطوير الحضري في التسعينيات. منذ ذلك الحين، تطورت منطقة بيروت المركزية إلى بيئة تجارية وتجارية متكاملة. تستضيف منطقة بيروت المركزية اليوم مجلس النواب اللبناني، ومقر الحكومة اللبنانية، وبورصة بيروت، والمكاتب الإقليمية للأمم المتحدة، ومنظمة العمل الدولية واليونسكو، والبنك الدولي، وكذلك مقر لجنة الأمم المتحدة الاقتصادية والاجتماعية لغرب آسيا، . - The Beirut Central District (BCD) or Centre Ville is the historical and geographical core of Beirut, the capital of Lebanon. Also called downtown Beirut, it has been described the “vibrant financial, commercial, and administrative hub of the country.” It is thousands of years old, traditionally a focus of business, finance, culture and leisure. It is situated on the city's northern coast and is easily accessible from all parts of the city. This includes the adjacent Beirut Seaport and Rafik Hariri International Airport. Major roads converge on it or from boundaries to the east, south and west, or line its 1.5 km (1 mi) long seafront to the north. After the city center was destroyed by the Lebanese Civil War, it underwent thorough reconstruction and development, which restored its cultural and economic position in the region. A master plan for reconstructing the city was officially approved by the Lebanese Government in March 1994 after a series of detailed studies alongside public and professional seminars. On May 5, 1994, Solidere, The Lebanese company for the development and reconstruction of the Beirut Central District was formed, launching the largest urban redevelopment project of the 1990s. Ever since, Beirut Central District has evolved into an integrated business and commercial environment. Today, Beirut Central District hosts the Lebanese Parliament, the Lebanese Government headquarters, the Beirut Stock Exchange, the regional offices of the United Nations, International Labour Organization, UNESCO, World Bank, as well as the headquarters of the ESCWA and the Union of Arab Banks. - Le centre-ville de Beyrouth (en arabe : وسط بيروت), appelé en anglais le Beirut Central District (abrégé BCD, « district central de Beyrouth ») ou downtown Beirut, constitue le pôle commercial et financier de Beyrouth. C'est aussi surtout le cœur historique de la ville, située à la croisée des quartiers à majorité chrétienne à l'Est, du quartier à majorité chiite de Bachoura, des quartiers sunnites à l'Ouest, de Wadi Abou Jamil, un quartier autrefois juif. Le centre-ville de Beyrouth reste un centre animé, tant sur le plan culturel qu'artistique. Le centre-ville est situé sur la côte nord de Beyrouth et offre des monuments importants tels que la place des Martyrs, le parlement (place de l'Étoile) et le grand sérail.
