- يتميز اللبنانيون بمهاراتهم في أنواع معينة من الرياضات بالنسبة للعالم العربي. فقد تفوقوا برياضات كمال الاجسام، كرة السلة، سباق السيارات وسباقات الدراجات الهوائية، السباحة والتزلج. بالإضافة لولعهم في رياضات أخرى عالمية مثل كرة القدم التي يتابعوتها بشغف وحماس. استضاف لبنان كأس آسيا عام 2000 ودورة الألعاب العربية عامي 1957 و1997. في ديسمبر 2011 حصل لبنان على قبول لاستضافة الدورة الثالثة عشرة للألعاب العربية عام 2015. على الرغم من أنه كان من المقرر عقد دورة الألعاب الآسيوية الشتوية في لبنان عام 2009 ، إلا أنها لم تُعقد في نهاية المطاف. استضاف لبنان الألعاب الفرانكوفونية في عام 2009. - Grâce à la géographie unique du Liban, les sports d'été ainsi que les sports d'hiver prospèrent dans le pays. En fait, en automne et au printemps il est parfois possible de pratiquer les deux activités à la fois dans une même journée; par exemple skier le matin et nager en mer l'après-midi. En 1959, Beyrouth a accueilli les troisième Jeux méditerranéens. Le Liban a reçu la Coupe d'Asie des nations en 2000 et les Jeux panarabes en 1957 puis de nouveau en 1997. En décembre 2011, le Liban a reçu l'autorisation d'organiser les 13e Jeux panarabes de 2015 Et malgré qu'on envisageait d'organiser les Jeux asiatiques d'hiver au Liban en 2009, ces derniers n'ont finalement pas eu lieu. Cependant, le pays a reçu les Jeux de la Francophonie la même année. (fr)
- Because of Lebanon's unique geography, both summer and winter sports thrive in the country. In fact, during autumn and spring it is sometimes possible to engage in both activities on the same day; for example, skiing in the morning and swimming in the afternoon. Lebanon hosted the Asian Cup in 2000 and the Pan-Arab Games in 1957 and again in 1997. In December 2011, Lebanon gained acceptance to host the 13th Pan-Arab Games in 2015. Although the Asian Winter Games were under consideration to be held in Lebanon in 2009, they ultimately did not take place. However, Lebanon did host Les Jeux de la Francophonie in 2009. (en)
