Februar 1970 in Horsham, England) ist Autor zahlreicher Fantasygeschichten, Theaterstücke und Drehbücher. 2008 erhielt er den World Fantasy Award in der Kategorie Bester Kurzroman für Tiny Deaths. 2010 folgte der British Fantasy Award für Love Songs For The Shy And Cynical als beste Kollektion, die auch den Shirley Jackson Award in diesem Jahr erhielt. Dies wiederholte er 2012 mit Everyone’s Just So So Special und 2013 mit Remember Why You Fear Me und 2019 für Year's Best Weird Fiction, Vol. 5 alsw beste Anthologie. (de)

Jest autorem m.in. opowiadań fantastycznych, słuchowisk dla BBC Radio 4 i Big Finish Productions oraz scenariuszy serialu Doktor Who (również związanych z serialem słuchowisk). Za zbiór opowiadań Tiny Deaths otrzymał w 2008 roku nagrodę World Fantasy, a za trzy kolejne zbiory – Love Songs for the Shy and Cynical, Everyone's Just So Special oraz Remember Why You Fear Me otrzymał British Fantasy Award. Na podstawie jego opowiadania powstał film krótkometrażowy Static (2016). W Polsce jego opowiadania były publikowane w antologii Kroki w nieznane 2012 oraz w miesięczniku „Nowa Fantastyka” i kwartalniku "OkoLica Strachu". (pl)
