- The 2011–12 Regionalliga season was the eighteenth season of the Regionalliga since its re-establishment after German reunification and the fourth as a fourth-level league within the German football league system. It was contested in three regional divisions. The season began on 8 August 2011 and ended on 20 May 2012. The champions of each division was promoted to the 2012–13 3. Liga. This tier of the German league pyramid was expanded to five divisions for the 2012–13 season. No team was relegated to a lower level on competitionally aspects at the end of the season. (en)
- Die Saison 2011/12 der Regionalliga war die vierte Spielzeit der Regionalliga als vierthöchste Spielklasse im deutschen Fußball. Es wurde letztmals in drei regionalen Staffeln – Nord, West und Süd – gespielt. Die Nord- und Süd-Staffeln bestand aus 18 Mannschaften, während in der West-Gruppe ausnahmsweise 19 Klubs spielten. Organisiert wurde die Regionalliga vom Deutschen Fußball-Bund DFB, der die spieltechnische Verwaltung an den Nordostdeutschen Fußball-Verband NOFV (Regionalliga Nord), den Westdeutschen Fußball- und Leichtathletikverband WFLV (Regionalliga West) und den Süddeutschen Fußball-Verband SFV (Regionalliga Süd) übertrug. Die Spielzeit startete am 5. August 2011 und endete am 19. Mai 2012. Die Meister der Staffeln Nord, West und Süd stiegen direkt in die 3. Liga auf. Aufgrund der Regionalligareform wurden die weiteren Qualifikationsbestimmungen für die Saison 2012/13 von den einzelnen Landes- bzw. Regionalverbänden getroffen. Der DFB gab die Staffeleinteilung am 1. Juli 2011 bekannt. Einziger Verein, der nicht in der sein Verbandsgebiet abdeckenden Regionalliga-Staffel spielte, war Wormatia Worms, der wie schon in der Vorsaison in die Süd-Staffel gruppiert wurde. (de)

Rozgrywki toczyły się w trzech grupach: Nord (Północ), West (Zachód) oraz Süd (Południe) i występowało w nich łącznie 55 drużyn. Po zakończeniu sezonu mistrzowie każdej grupy awansowali bezpośrednio do 3. Ligi, zaś nikt nie spadał do Oberligi, ponieważ po zakończeniu rozgrywek zostały dodane 2 nowe grupy: Nordost (Północny Wschód) i Bayern (Bawaria). (pl)
