- Το Ο Βασιλιάς των Λιονταριών (αγγλικά: The Lion King) είναι franchise της Disney, στο οποίο συμπεριλαμβάνονται ταινίες και άλλα μέσα. Δημιουργήθηκε το 1994, μετά την μεγάλη επιτυχία της ταινίας Ο Βασιλιάς των Λιονταριών, σε σκηνοθεσία Ρότζερ Άλερς και Ρομπ Μίνκοφ. Την ταινία ακολούθησαν άλλες δύο ταινίες απευθείας-σε-βίντεο: Ο Βασιλιάς των Λιονταριών II: Το Βασίλειο του Σίμπα (1998) και Ο Βασιλιάς των Λιονταριών 3: Χακούνα Ματάτα (2004). Εκτός από τις ταινίες έχουν ακολουθήσει τηλεοπτικές σειρές, μικρού μήκους ταινίας και αρκετά βιντεοπαιχνίδια. Επίσης, η πρώτη ταινία μεταφέρθηκε και στο Μπρόντγουεϊ, με τον ίδιο τίτλο, το οποίο είναι το τρίτο στην ιστορία του Μπρόντουγεϊ, σε διάρκεια προβολών, κέρδισε μάλιστα και πολλά βραβεία Tony. Πολύ επιτυχημένο υπήρξε και το soundtrack της πρώτης ταινίας το οποίο πούλησε πάνω από 7 εκατομμύρια αντίτυπα, στις ΗΠΑ. Το τραγούδι του δίσκου Can You Feel the Love Tonight, κέρδισε και Όσκαρ Καλύτερου Τραγουδιού. Η πρώτη ταινία κέρδισε συνολικά 2 Όσκαρ και 2 Χρυσές Σφαίρες, μεταξύ άλλων διακρίσεων. (el)
