- Das Paléo Festival ist ein alljährlich Ende Juli stattfindendes Festival im schweizerischen Nyon, das vom Non-Profit-Verein Paléo arts et spectacles organisiert und durchgeführt wird. Der 1976 erstmals unter dem Namen First Folk Festival im alten Gemeindesaal von Nyon stattfindende und dreitägige Anlass zieht mittlerweile jedes Jahr weit über 200'000 Besucher an. Heute befindet sich das Open-Air-Festival im Norden der Stadt und umfasst über zehn Hektar Weidegelände. Zwischen 1977 und 1985 hiess das Festival Nyon Folk Festival. Seinen Namen Paléo erhielt der Event 1983 nach einem Rennpferd, das diesen Namen trug. Im Rahmen der positiven wirtschaftlichen Aussichten gründete das Paléo Festival 1993 mit dem Montreux Jazz Festival die OPUS ONE AG, welche mit ihr zusammen in Nyon Büros unterhält und ebenfalls private Veranstaltungen organisiert.

- Le Paléo Festival Nyon, généralement appelé Paléo (du nom d'un cheval), est le plus grand festival en plein air de Suisse à Nyon et fait partie des événements musicaux majeurs en Europe. Il dure six jours, six nuits, avec environ 230 000 spectateurs attendus, plus de 250 concerts et spectacles répartis sur six scènes et plus de 220 stands sur le terrain. En 2016, 4 770 collaborateurs bénévoles participent à son élaboration. Depuis 2000, le Paléo affiche systématiquement complet bien avant l'ouverture des portes, souvent quelques jours, voire quelques heures, après la mise en vente des billets. 1 500 entrées supplémentaires sont cependant vendues le matin-même des concerts sur le site internet du festival. - The Paléo Festival de Nyon, usually just called Paléo, is an annual rock festival held in Nyon, Switzerland. It started in a small way in 1976 as the Nyon Folk Festival. The first one was held in the village hall in Nyon. From 1977 until 1989, it was held at Colovray, Nyon, by Lake Geneva and had only two stages, but today it is one of the major open-air music festivals in mainland Europe and the biggest in Switzerland. Today the event has grown to include international artists. In 1990, it moved to its current location, at the Plaine de l'Asse, accessible either by walking, bus or the Chemin de fer Nyon-St-Cergue-Morez narrow-gauge railway. The festival lasts six days at the end of July, from Tuesday to Sunday, and the final main stage concert is preceded by a great firework display with music. As of 2005, 3.5 million spectators and 2500 artists had been part of the Paléo Festival. (en)
- Il Paléo Festival è un festival musicale che si svolge ogni estate (generalmente alla fine di luglio) a Nyon, nella Svizzera francese. Nato come folk festival nel luglio del 1976, ogni anno si è ripetuto, crescendo sempre più di importanza, fino a diventare uno dei festival più importanti della Svizzera. Attualmente si tratta del secondo maggiore open-air music festival d'Europa, dopo il Sziget Festival, in Ungheria. Al Paléo Festival si esibiscono ogni anno artisti di successo, ma ciò nonostante la maggior parte dei gruppi sono emergenti. Il programma di questa settimana musicale è molto variegato e l'area su cui si svolge è molto grande (14.5 ettari di prato), ci sono cinque palchi e numerosi ristoranti che cucinano specialità provenienti da ogni angolo del pianeta. Dentro quest'area si respira un'atmosfera molto festosa e soprattutto non si corre nessun rischio, infatti questo festival è reputato uno dei più sicuri. (it)
