The track won an MTV Video Music Award in 2007 for the newly-added category of Most Earth-Shattering Collaboration, and the Spanish version of the song was nominated for the 8th Annual Latin Grammy Award in 2007 for Record of the Year, but lost to Juan Luis Guerra's La Llave de mi Corazón. It was also nominated for Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals in the 50th Annual Grammy Awards. The previous year, Shakira was nominated for this award with "Hips Don't Lie" featuring Wyclef Jean.
