- Mistrovství Evropy juniorů byla soutěž juniorských reprezentačních mužstev evropských členských zemí IIHF. Na jejím vzniku se významně podílel zástupce čs. ledního hokeje v IIHF Miroslav Šubrt. Původně se soutěže mohli zúčastňovat hráči do 19 let, po vzniku mistrovství světa juniorů do 20 let byla věková hranice snížena na 18 let (od 1977). V roce 1999 byla soutěž nahrazena mistrovstvím světa juniorů do 18 let. (cs)
- Die Junioren-Europameisterschaft war ein jährliches Eishockeyturnier, das von 1968 bis 1998 von der Internationalen Eishockey-Föderation (IIHF) organisiert wurde. Bereits 1967 war eine inoffizielle Junioren-Europameisterschaft ausgetragen worden. Von 1968 bis 1976 wurde die Europameisterschaft als U19-Wettbewerb ausgespielt, also für Spieler die jünger als 19 Jahre waren. Im Jahr 1977 führte die IIHF erstmals eine Junioren-Weltmeisterschaft für die Altersklasse U20 durch. Die IIHF änderte deswegen die Altersklasse der Europameisterschaft auf U18. 1999 wurde auch eine U18-Weltmeisterschaft eingeführt, welche die U18-Europameisterschaft ersetzte. Die C- und D-Gruppe der EM wurden noch zwei Jahre als Europa-Division I und II weitergeführt. Der Wettbewerb wurde durch die Sowjetunion (ab 1992 Russland), Schweden, die Tschechoslowakei (ab 1993 Tschechien) und Finnland dominiert. Mit zwei Ausnahmen gingen alle Medaillen an diese vier Länder. Die Europameisterschaft wurde ab 1969 in mehreren qualitativ aufgeteilten Gruppen mit Auf- und Abstieg zwischen den Gruppen ausgespielt. Bei der letzten Austragung 1998 nahmen 32 Länder in vier Gruppen (A, B, C und D) teil. (de)
- The IIHF European Junior Championships were an annual ice hockey tournament organized by the International Ice Hockey Federation and held from 1968 to 1998, with an unofficial tournament being held in 1967. The tournament was played as a U19 tournament from 1968 to 1976. In 1977, the IIHF created the IIHF World Junior Championships, and the U19 championships became U18. The tournament was dominated by the Russians (and Soviets), Czechs (and Czechoslovaks), Swedes and Finns, winning all but two of the medals in the 31 years it was held. The U18 Championships remained strong until 1999, when the new IIHF World U18 Championships were introduced, thus rendering the U18 European Championships redundant. Two European Divisions continued until 2000, but were tiered qualifiers, alongside Asian Divisions, with promotion and relegation to the World Group B. (en)
- Le championnat d'Europe junior de hockey sur glace a eu lieu pour la première fois en 1968. La dernière édition à proprement parler a eu lieu trente ans plus tard, en 1998. Le championnat d'Europe est alors remplacé par le championnat du monde pour les moins de 18 ans. (fr)
- Il Campionato europeo di hockey su ghiaccio Under-18 si svolse in forma ufficiale dal 1968 al 1998, mentre una prima edizione non riconosciuta fu disputata già nel 1967. Il torneo fu riservato alle rappresentative Under-19 nel periodo 1968-1976. Nel 1977 la IIHF creò il Campionato mondiale di hockey su ghiaccio Under-20, e il campionato U19 diventò riservato agli Under-18. Nel corso delle trentuno edizioni disputate le nazionali russe, cecoslocacche, svedesi e finlandesi conquistarono tutte le medaglie disponibili tranne due. Il campionato U18 nel 1999 fu abolito per lasciare il posto al nuovo Campionato mondiale di hockey su ghiaccio Under-18, organizzato dalla IIHF, nel quale furono inserite le migliori rappresentative europee insieme a quelle nordamericane. Fino al 2000 si disputarono due divisioni europee, così come già fatto in Asia e Oceania, per accedere con promozioni e retrocessioni al Gruppo B. (it)
