- WTA Tour Championships 2012, známý také jako Turnaj mistryň 2012 či se jménem sponzorů TEB BNP Paribas WTA Championships 2012, byl jedním ze dvou závěrečných tenisových turnajů ženské profesionální sezóny 2012 pro osm nejvýše postavených žen ve dvouhře a čtyři nejlepší páry ve čtyřhře na žebříčku WTA Race. Uskutečnil se ve dnech 23. až 28. října, podruhé v tureckém hlavním městě Istanbulu. Dějištěm konání se stala hala Sinan Erdem Dome, v níž byl instalován dvorec s tvrdým povrchem. Celkové odměny činily 4 900 000 amerických dolarů. Hlavními sponzory byly společnost TEB a bankovní dům BNP Paribas. Obhájkyněmi titulů byly ve dvouhře Češka Petra Kvitová a ve čtyřhře americká dvojice Liezel Huberová a Lisa Raymondová. Jedinou hráčkou, která se kvalifikovala do obou soutěží je Italka Sara Erraniová. Kvitová odstoupila po první prohře pro zánět nosohltanu. Nahradila ji Australanka Samantha Stosurová. Polka Agnieszka Radwańská a Italka Sara Erraniová odehrály v základní skupině nejdelší třísetové utkání celé historie Turnaje mistryň. Poprvé od roku 1989 postoupily do semifinále první čtyři tenistky žebříčku WTA – Azarenková, Šarapovová, Williamsová a Radwańska, a poprvé od roku 2003 také pronikly do vyřazovací fáze všechny čtyři nejvýše nasazené hráčky. Třetí singlový titul z této události získala Američanka Serena Williamsová, která zvítězila ve všech pěti utkáních. Es tractava de la 42a edició en individual i la 37a en dobles. Es va disputar sobre pista dura entre el 23 i el 28 d'octubre de 2012 al Sinan Erdem Spor Salonu d'Istanbul, Turquia. La tennista estatunidenca Serena Williams es va adjudicar aquest trofeu per tercera ocasió (2001 i 2009) i va aconseguir el setè títol de la temporada. Amb aquest títol va posar fi a una gran temporada en la qual va aconseguir dos Grand Slams i les medalles d'or olímpiques individual i de dobles femenins. Destacar especialment els dos darrers terços de la temporada aconseguint una ratxa de 48 victòries per 2 derrotes, per un total de 58 i 4. També va esdevenir la tennista més veterana en guanyar aquest torneig amb 31 anys. Junt a la russa Maria Xaràpova van reeditar la final del 2004 tot i que amb resultat contrari. Kvitová withdrew from the championships after one match and was replaced by Sam Stosur. Radwańska and Errani's round robin match set the record for the longest match in WTA Tour Championships history within the best-of-three system. Azarenka, Sharapova, Williams and Radwańska qualified from the red and white groups for the semifinals. This was the first time since 1989 that the world's top four ranked women's players all made it to the semifinals of the tournament and the first time since 2003 that the top four seeds made the same stage. Williams went on to win her third season ending championship. In the doubles Sara Errani and Roberta Vinci, Andrea Hlaváčková and Lucie Hradecká, Liezel Huber and Lisa Raymond and Maria Kirilenko and Nadia Petrova made up the teams. Die Tennismeisterschaften der WTA Tour im Dameneinzel und -doppel wurden zum zweiten Mal in Istanbul, Türkei, ausgetragen. Die Tschechin Petra Kvitová im Einzel und die amerikanische Paarung Liezel Huber/Lisa Raymond im Doppel waren die Titelverteidigerinnen. Alle drei Spielerinnen waren auch diesmal wieder qualifiziert. Kvitová konnte nur das erste Gruppenspiel gegen Agnieszka Radwańska bestreiten und musste dann die weiteren Spiele absagen. Enkelspel – De acht hoogst gerangschikte speelsters van de WTA-ranglijst waren automatisch gekwalificeerd voor het toernooi. W zawodach singlowych udział brało osiem najlepszych zawodniczek świata według klasyfikacji WTA Champions Race, podsumowującej występy tenisistki w danym sezonie. Zawodniczki rywalizowały w dwóch grupach po cztery osoby. Dwie najlepsze zawodniczki z każdej grupy awansowały do półfinałów, a ich zwyciężczynie grały o trofeum.
