- The Dolaucothi Gold Mines (pronounced [ˌdɔlaiˈkɔθɪ]; Welsh: Mwynfeydd Aur Dolaucothi) (grid reference SN662403), also known as the Ogofau Gold Mine, are ancient Roman surface and underground mines located in the valley of the River Cothi, near Pumsaint, Carmarthenshire, Wales. The gold mines are located within the Dolaucothi Estate which is now owned by the National Trust. They are the only mines for Welsh gold outside those of the Dolgellau gold-belt, and are a Scheduled Ancient Monument. They are also the only known Roman gold mines in Britain, although it does not exclude the likelihood that they exploited other known sources in Devon in South West England, north Wales, Scotland and elsewhere. - Les mines d'or de Dolaucothi ou Mine d’Ogofau, sont des mines en puits et à ciel ouvert d'époque romaine, dans la vallée de la , près du village de Pumsaint, dans le Carmarthenshire, au Pays de Galles. Les mines d'or se trouvent dans le domaine de Dolaucothi, aujourd'hui propriété du National Trust. Ce sont les seules mines d'or galloises hormis le filon de Dolgellau, et elles sont classées Monument historique. Ce sont aussi les seules mines d'or d'époque romaine en Grande-Bretagne, bien qu'il soit probable que les occupants aient exploité d'autres sites dans le Devon, les Galles du Nord, l’Écosse etc. Ce site archéologique témoigne du degré d'évolution de la technologie de la Rome antique.
