Ocean City is a city in Cape May County, New Jersey. It is the principal city of the Ocean City Metropolitan Statistical Area, which encompasses all of Cape May County and is part of the Philadelphia-Wilmington-Camden, PA-NJ-DE-MD Combined Statistical Area. As of the 2020 U.S. census, the city's population was 11,701, reflecting a decline of 3,677 (−23.9%) from the 15,378 counted in the 2000 census, which had in turn declined by 134 (−0.9%) from the 15,512 counted in the 1990 census. In summer months, with an influx of tourists and second homeowners, there are estimated to be 115,000 to 130,000 within the city's borders.

Erst 1986 wurde die Öffnung von Geschäften am Sonntag erlaubt. Zu den vielen berühmten, meist regelmäßig wiederkehrenden Gästen von Ocean City, gehörten und gehören unter anderen Grace Kelly, die spätere Fürstin Gracia Patricia von Monaco, ihr Filmpartner aus Das Fenster zum Hof James Stewart, Kevin Bacon, Mike Tyson und viele andere. Trotzdem ist der Ort sehr ruhig und bodenständig und wird dem selbstgegebenen Image nach wie vor gerecht. Ocean City ist eine Insel, die durch vier Brücken mit dem Festland verbunden ist. Dazwischen befindet sich sumpfiges Marschland, in dem insbesondere die Entenjagd praktiziert wird. Auf der dem Atlantik zugewandten Seite erstrecken sich über 12 km Sandstrände und Sandbänke, die zum Teil ein überdurchschnittliches Surferlebnis erlauben. Ocean City ist etwa 20 Minuten von Atlantic City und etwa 70 Minuten von Philadelphia entfernt und über den Garden State Parkway Exit 25 angebunden. Zunehmend wird Ocean City auch von New Yorkern (ca. 175 Meilen Entfernung) als Sommerdomizil genutzt. 2008 wurde Ocean City zum drittbesten Strand in ganz New Jersey im Wettbewerb „10 Beaches Contest“ bestimmt, gesponsert vom New Jersey Marine Sciences Consortium. Neben dem kilometerlangen öffentlichen Sandstrand ist Ocean City insbesondere für seinen bekannt. Dabei handelt es sich um einen kilometerlangen Holzpier entlang des Strandes mit jahrmarktähnlichen Attraktionen wie Achterbahnen, Minigolf und Karussells neben Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und Restaurants. Daneben findet im Juli eine Schiffsparade, die sogenannte „Night in Venice“ („Nacht in Venedig“) statt, die ca. 100.000 Besucher anlockt. Zu den Stadtbezirken zählt der historische Ocean City Residential Historic District. Daneben weist der Ort fünf weitere Einträge im National Register of Historic Places auf (Stand 27. September 2018). Ocean City verfügt unter anderem über eine High School mit etwa 1300 Schülern und 125 Lehrern. Ursprünglich wurde die Insel ab dem 17. Jahrhundert von Walfängern zur Zwischenlagerung von Walfischen genutzt; danach als Weideland. Erst Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts wurde Ocean City erstmals das ganze Jahr lang bewohnt und bald in ein christliches Seebad verwandelt, indem die Landflächen parzelliert und verkauft wurden. Ocean City was incorporated as a city, its current government form, on March 25, 1897. The city is named for its location on the Atlantic Ocean. Known as a family-oriented seaside resort, Ocean City has not allowed the sale of alcoholic beverages within its limits since its founding in 1879, offering miles of guarded beaches, a boardwalk that stretches for 2.5 miles (4.0 km), and a downtown shopping and dining district. The Travel Channel rated Ocean City as the Best Family Beach of 2005. It was ranked the third-best beach in New Jersey in the 2008 Top 10 Beaches Contest sponsored by the New Jersey Marine Sciences Consortium.   • オーシャンシティ（英: Ocean City）は、アメリカ合衆国ニュージャージー州の南端、ケープメイ郡にある都市である。郡内では面積最大の市であり、ケープメイ郡の全体で構成されるオーシャンシティ大都市圏の主要都市である。2010年国勢調査では人口11,701人となり、2000年の15,378人から3,677人、23.9%の減少、1990年の15,512人から3,811人、24.6%の減少となった。夏の間は、観光客やセカンドハウスの所有者が押しかけるので、人口は115,000人から130,000人に膨れあがると推計されている。 1884年5月3日、ニュージャージー州議会の法により、同年4月30日の住民投票結果に基づき、アッパー・タウンシップの一部から「ボロ」として創設され、1890年3月31日に「ボロ」として再度法人化された。現在の市政府形態は1897年3月25日に法人化されたものである。 家族向けのリゾート地として知られ、1879年に設立されたときから市域内でのアルコール飲料販売を禁じてきた。長い保護された海浜、全長2.5マイル (4.0 km) ある板道、風変わりな中心街のショッピングと食事の町並みがある。 (ja)

W 2013 roku miasto liczyło 11 451 mieszkańców. Miasto rozplanowane zostało w 1879 roku przez metodystów jako kurort nadmorski. W 1897 roku nastąpiło oficjalne założenie miasta.
