- Die folgenden 34 Filme, alle aus verschiedenen Ländern, waren Vorschläge in der Kategorie bester fremdsprachiger Film für die Oscarverleihung 1992. Die hervorgehobenen Titel waren die fünf letztendlich nominierten Filme, welche aus den Ländern Hong Kong, Island, Italien, Schweden und Tschechoslowakei stammen. Der Oscar ging schließlich an den italienischen Beitrag Mediterraneo. Zum ersten Mal wurde für diese Kategorie ein Beitrag aus dem Vereinigten Königreich eingereicht. (de)
- This is a list of submissions to the 64th Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film. The Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film was created in 1956 by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to honour non-English-speaking films produced outside the United States. The award is handed out annually, and is accepted by the winning film's director, although it is considered an award for the submitting country as a whole. Countries are invited by the Academy to submit their best films for competition according to strict rules, with only one film being accepted from each country. For the 64th Academy Awards, thirty-four films were submitted in the category Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. The five nominated films came from Czechoslovakia, Hong Kong, Iceland, Sweden and the eventual winner, Mediterraneo, from Italy. Hong Kong and Iceland received their first-ever nominations, while Czechoslovakia received its final nomination as a unified state. (en)
