- The 2008 Judgment Day was the 10th Judgment Day professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) event produced by World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). It was held for wrestlers from the promotion's Raw, SmackDown, and ECW brand divisions. The event took place on May 18, 2008, at the Qwest Center Omaha in Omaha, Nebraska. The event's card featured seven matches. The main event was for Raw's WWE Championship, in which Triple H defeated Randy Orton in a Steel Cage match to retain the title. In SmackDown's main match, The Undertaker defeated Edge by countout, but did not win the vacant World Heavyweight Championship because unless stipulated, championships do not change hands via countout or disqualification. In ECW's main match, WWE Tag Team Champions John Morrison and The Miz defeated ECW Champion Kane and CM Punk to retain the titles. From the six scheduled bouts on the undercard, two received more promotion than the others; these bouts included two singles matches, in which Shawn Michaels defeated Chris Jericho and John Cena defeated John "Bradshaw" Layfield (JBL), respectively. Judgment Day received 252,000 pay-per-view buys, and was instrumental in helping WWE increase its pay-per-view revenue by $21.9 million compared to the previous year. The professional wrestling section of the Canadian Online Explorer website rated the entire event 6 out of 10, higher than the 2007 event, which was marked "as an average show". It was also the first Judgment Day PPV broadcast in high definition. (en)

Il s'agit de la dixième édition de Judgment Day, pay-per-view annuel. Triple H est la vedette de l'affiche officielle. Sept matchs, dont quatre mettant en jeu les titres de la fédération, ont été programmés. Chacun d'entre eux est déterminé par des storylines rédigées par les scénaristes de la WWE ; soit par des rivalités survenues avant le pay-per-view, soit par des matchs de qualification en cas de rencontre pour un championnat. L'événement a mis en vedette les catcheurs des divisions Raw, SmackDown et ECW créées en 2002 lors de la séparation du personnel de la WWE en deux promotions distinctes. Ce dernier se disqualifie volontairement par décompte à l'extérieur, et ce, afin de conserver son titre. Undertaker remporte le match par disqualification. Cependant, un titre ne peut être gagné que par tombé ou soumission. Le titre est donc toujours vacant. Un peu plus tôt dans la soirée, les champions par équipe John Morrison et The Miz affrontent l'équipe composée de CM Punk et du champion de l'ECW, Kane pour le championnat par équipe. La rencontre se termine par une victoire des champions Miz et Morrison, qui conserve donc leurs ceintures. Enfin, la championne féminine Mickie James défend son titre, le championnat féminin de la WWE dans un Triple Threat Match contre Beth Phoenix et Melina. Le match est remporté par James qui conserve son titre. 11 000 personnes ont réservé leur place pour assister au spectacle. Le DVD du spectacle est sorti au début du mois de juin 2008. Judgment Day a reçu un bilan très très mitigé des critiques. (fr)
