- The 2008 Backlash was the 10th Backlash professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) event produced by World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). It was held for wrestlers from the promotion's Raw, SmackDown, and ECW brand divisions. The event took place on April 27, 2008, at the 1st Mariner Arena in Baltimore, Maryland. The concept of the pay-per-view was based around the backlash from WrestleMania XXIV. Eight professional wrestling matches were scheduled on the event's card, which featured a supercard, a scheduling of more than one main event. The first was a Fatal 4-Way elimination match for the WWE Championship featuring wrestlers from the Raw brand, in which all four men fought in the ring at the same time, with competitors being eliminated by pinfall or submission. Triple H defeated WWE Champion Randy Orton, John Cena, and John "Bradshaw" Layfield (JBL) to win the championship. The other main event featured wrestlers from the SmackDown brand, in which defending World Heavyweight Champion The Undertaker defeated challenger Edge in a standard wrestling match, also known as a singles match. The main event from the ECW brand was a standard match in which defending ECW Champion Kane defeated challenger Chavo Guerrero. In addition, a featured bout was scheduled on the undercard, in which Shawn Michaels defeated Batista in a standard match. Backlash had an attendance of approximately 11,277 and received 200,000 buys, less than the previous year's event. When the event was released on DVD, it reached a peak position of second on Billboard's Recreational Sports DVD Sales Chart. It was also the first Backlash PPV broadcast in high definition. (en)

Il s'agit de la dixième édition de Backlash, pay-per-view annuel. The Undertaker est la vedette de l'affiche officielle. Huit matchs, dont quatre mettant en jeu les titres de la fédération, ont été programmés. Chacun d'entre eux est déterminé par des storylines rédigées par les scénaristes de la WWE ; soit par des rivalités survenues avant le pay-per-view, soit par des matchs de qualification en cas de rencontre pour un championnat. La rencontre se termine par une victoire de HBK. Enfin, Kane affronte Chavo Guerrero pour le championnat de l'ECW, titre remporté par Kane lors du dernier WrestleMania, en seulement 8 secondes. Kane conserve sa ceinture. 11 000 personnes ont réservé leur place pour assister au spectacle. Le DVD du spectacle est sorti durant le mois de mai 2008.
