- Místní hora (německy Hausberg; slovinsky hišni hrib či hišna gora), někdy také domácí hora, je výrazná, většinou nezastavěná hora v bezprostřední blízkosti obce či obydlené oblasti, která tvoří její výraznou kulisu. Pokud je vyvýšenina přímo v intravilánu obce, je častěji označována jako městská hora či městský kopec (něm. Stadtberg). Salcburk, město na okraji Alp: Dvě (z několika) městských hor uprostřed starého města , v pozadí jedna ze (dvou) místních hor, Místní hora většinou neslouží pouze jako kulisa, ale také jako místo k odpočinku a rekreaci s jedinečným výhledem na město. Mnohé vrcholky místních hor jsou proto dosažitelné horskými železnicemi nebo lanovkami. Místní hora se nemusí nutně nacházet přímo na území dané obce či osady, např. je místní hora města Bregenz, i přesto, že leží na území obce a nejvyšší vrchol horského masivu Pilatus který tvoří místní horu města Lucern se dokonce ani nenachází na území kantonu Lucern. - Ein Hausberg eines Ortes oder einer Liegenschaft ist ein markanter Berg in seiner unmittelbaren Nähe, dem Weichbild des Orts. Liegt eine Erhebung unmittelbar in der Stadt, spricht man eher von Stadtberg. Zum Hausberg der Stadt blickt man hinauf, er hat aber noch mehr die Funktion, dass man von ihm auf die Stadt hinabschaut. Deshalb sind auch viele Hausberge durch Berg- oder Seilbahnen erschlossen. Der Hausberg einer Stadt muss nicht auf deren Gemarkung liegen: Der Pfänder liegt als Hausberg der Stadt Bregenz auf dem Gebiet der Gemeinde Lochau und der höchste Gipfel des Pilatus als Hausberg der Stadt Luzern sogar knapp außerhalb des Kantons Luzern. It means something like the "local mountain" or "local hill" closely associated with a settlement by its population. The Hausberg forms a backdrop to its home settlement and also offers a prominent viewing point looking over the settlement. As a result, many Hausberge have cable cars or gondola lifts to transport visitors to the top. "Hausberg" is also the proper name of numerous local mountains and hills in German-speaking countries. The Hausberg does not have to lie within the town's municipal boundaries: The Pfänder, the Hausberg of the town of Bregenz in Austria, is in the municipality of Lochau and the highest summit of the Pilatus, the Hausberg of Lucerne, is even just outside the Canton of Lucerne.
