David Lloyd Wolper (January 11, 1928 – August 10, 2010) was an American television and film producer, responsible for shows such as Roots, The Thorn Birds, and North and South, and the theatrically-released films L.A. Confidential and Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (1971). He was awarded the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award at the 57th Academy Awards in 1985 for his work producing the opening and closing ceremonies of the XXIIIrd Olympiad, Los Angeles 1984 as well as helping to bring the games to L.A. His 1971 film (as executive producer) about the study of insects, The Hellstrom Chronicle, won an Academy Award.

Film Most u Remagenu vyráběl v roce 1969 v Československu, než ho musel se štábem opustit před dokončením po okupaci vojsky Varšavské smlouvy. Byl i producentem celé řady dokumentárních pořadů, z nichž The Hellstrom Chronicle (1971) o výzkumu hmyzu obdržel Oscara. Byl i producentem dokumentu Viděno osmi pořízeném na olympijských hrách v Mnichově v roce 1972. V oblasti dokumentu byl průkopníkem žánru . V roce 1984 byl producentem slavnostního zahájení olympijských her v Los Angeles a o dva roky později uspořádal obří oslavy v newyorském zálivu u příležitosti 100 let věnování sochy Svobody Spojeným státům. Za svůj přínos televizní tvorbě byl oceněn umístěním osobní hvězdy na Hollywoodském chodníku slávy. V roce 2003 vyšla s názvem Producer jeho biografie napsaná Davidem Fisherem. (cs)
