- Resultats del Gran Premi d'Àustria de Fórmula 1 de la temporada 2002, disputat al circuit de A1-Ring el 12 de maig del 2002. Aquest Gran Premi passarà a la història per la polèmica que va protagonitzar l'equip Ferrari en relació a les ordres d'equip. Al llarg de tot el cap de setmana, el pilot brasiler Rubens Barrichello va anar més ràpid que el seu company d'equip Michael Schumacher. De fet, el dissabte ja es va adjudicar la pole i diumenge va liderar la cursa de cap a cap. A una volta de la conclusió del Gran Premi, però, l'l'equip Ferrari va ordenar al pilot brasiler que es deixés avançar. Finalment, doncs, Schumacher va guanyar el GP amb una diferència de 0,182 segons respecte al seu company d'esquadra Rubens Barrichello. Aquest acte no va agradar gens ni mica al públic congregat al circuit austríac, els quals van respondre xiulant, de manera irada, en contra de la cerimònia d'entrega de premis. Tot aquest enrenou va fer que la FIA aprovés una prohibició explicita de tot aquest tipus de pràctiques. Uns quants anys més tard del fet, al novembre del 2008, el pilot Rubens Barrichello, llavors ja a les files d'Honda, va declarar a la premsa que aquelles ordres d'equip van anar acompanyades d'amenaces de recessió de contracte. - The 2002 Austrian Grand Prix (formally the Grosser A1 Preis von Österreich 2002) was a Formula One motor race held on 12 May 2002 at the A1-Ring in Spielberg, Styria, Austria. It was the sixth round of the 2002 Formula One World Championship and the 25th Austrian Grand Prix as part of the Formula One World Championship. Ferrari driver Michael Schumacher won the 71-lap race starting from third position. His teammate Rubens Barrichello finished second, and Juan Pablo Montoya took third for the Williams team. Michael Schumacher, who was the winner of four of the five preceding races in the season, led the World Drivers' Championship prior to the Grand Prix with his team Ferrari leading the World Constructors' Championship. Barrichello started the race from the pole position after recording the fastest lap in qualifying; Williams driver Ralf Schumacher started second, but was passed by Michael Schumacher in the first corner. Barrichello maintained the lead through most of the race until Ferrari invoked team orders on him to allow Michael Schumacher to win the race on the final lap and improve his standing in the World Drivers' Championship. It was his fourth victory in a row in the 2002 season and the 58th of his career. The safety car was deployed twice during the race, which included a major accident on lap 28 involving Jordan driver Takuma Sato and Nick Heidfeld of the Sauber team, who both sustained light injuries. At the post-race podium ceremony Michael Schumacher implored Barrichello to mount the stand reserved for the race winner and gave the first-place trophy to his teammate. That led the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA; Formula One's governing body) to fine Ferrari, Michael Schumacher and Barrichello $1 million on 26 June; each paid a third immediately, while the remainder was suspended. Following a review, the FIA banned the practice of team orders beginning with the 2003 season; they began again allowing the practice following the 2010 championship. The win increased Michael Schumacher's lead in the World Drivers' Championship to 27 points over Montoya in second place. Ralf Schumacher came fourth to maintain third place, and Barrichello moved past David Coulthard of the McLaren team to fourth. In the World Constructors' Championship, Ferrari further extended their advantage over Williams to 16 points. McLaren were another 36 points behind in third with eleven races remaining in the season. - Resultados do Grande Prêmio da Áustria de Fórmula 1 (formalmente XXVI Großer A1 Preis von Österreich) realizado em A1-Ring em 12 de maio de 2002. Sexta etapa da temporada, foi vencido pelo alemão Michael Schumacher, que subiu ao pódio junto a Rubens Barrichelo numa dobradinha da Ferrari, com Juan Pablo Montoya em terceiro pela Williams-BMW. Considerada uma das corridas mais polêmicas da história da Fórmula 1, nela a Ferrari emitiu uma ordem para Rubens Barrichello deixar Michael Schumacher passá-lo e vencer a corrida, mesmo o alemão não precisando de ponto algum para o campeonato de pilotos àquela altura. Barrichello liderava com folga e não tencionava ceder, mas diminuiu o ritmo gradualmente e cumpriu a infausta ordem a poucos metros da linha de chegada, evidenciando que só não ganhou por causa do jogo de equipe arquitetado pela escuderia italiana. A decisão causou revolta nos torcedores presentes ao autódromo, que vaiaram. Até os pilotos participantes da corrida fizeram questão de cumprimentar o brasileiro por ter liderado a corrida inteira, sendo o "vencedor moral" da mesma. No pódio, um constrangido Schumacher colocou seu companheiro de equipe no topo do pódio, mas o hino executado foi o da Alemanha. Ato contínuo, o piloto germânico deu o troféu da vitória ao cabisbaixo Barrichello. Por conta dessas quebras de protocolo, poucos dias depois, a Ferrari foi multada em R$ 2 milhões. Portanto, o time carmesim foi punido financeiramente por quebrar o protocolo da cerimônia de premiação e não pelos eventos farsescos da prova em si. Caso vencesse, Rubens Barrichello seria o segundo brasileiro a triunfar no Grande Prêmio da Áustria. A única vitória brasileira nessa etapa ocorreu em 1972, com Emerson Fittipaldi correndo pela Lotus. Em entrevista dada em 2012, Barrichello afirmou que fez aquilo pois recebeu uma ameaça que poderia ter encerrado sua carreira. (pt)
