Hlavní kampus univerzity je na Stag Hill, u centra Guildfordu a nedaleké katedrály. Druhý kampus, Manor Park, se nachází v těsné blízkosti a byl rozšířen o nové obytné prostory, akademické budovy a sportovní zařízení. V roce 2013 se univerzita poprvé probojovala v žebříčku do elitní desítky, když se v průvodci univerzitami od deníku Guardian umístila na celkovém 8. místě ve Spojeném království. - The University of Surrey is a public research university in Guildford, Surrey, England. The university received its royal charter in 1966, along with a number of other institutions following recommendations in the Robbins Report. The institution was previously known as Battersea College of Technology and was located in Battersea Park, London. Its roots however, go back to Battersea Polytechnic Institute, founded in 1891 to provide further and higher education in London, including its poorer inhabitants. The university's research output and global partnerships have led to it being regarded as one of the UK's leading research universities. The university is a member of the Association of MBAs and is one of four universities in the University Global Partnership Network. It is also part of the SETsquared partnership along with the University of Bath, the University of Bristol, the University of Southampton and the University of Exeter. The university's main campus is on Stag Hill, close to the centre of Guildford and adjacent to Guildford Cathedral. is situated at the nearby Manor Park, the university's secondary campus. Among British universities, the University of Surrey had the 14th highest average UCAS Tariff for new entrants in 2015. A major centre for satellite and mobile communications research, the university is in partnership with King's College London and the Dresden University of Technology to develop 5G technology worldwide. - De Universiteit van Surrey (Engels: University of Surrey) is een onderzoeksuniversiteit in de Britse stadje Guildford in het graafschap Surrey. De chancellor van de instelling, een protocolaire voorzitterspositie, is sinds 1977 prins Edward, hertog van Kent. De instelling was aanvankelijk een Londense hogeschool. In 1891 werd het Battersea Polytechnic Institute opgericht in Londen met de opdracht voor de armere bevolking hoger onderwijs aan te bieden. Het instituut was gevestigd in en dankte zijn naam aan Battersea Park. De eerste studenten werden in 1894 toegelaten. Het instituut kreeg in 1956 de erkenning van zijn hoogstaand technisch onderwijsniveau als College of Advanced Technology en uitte dit met een naamswijziging als Battersea College of Technology. In het begin van de jaren zestig was plaatsgebrek in het Londense park de hoofdreden zuidwaarts te trekken en een hervestiging in Guildford volgde in 1966.
