- the armour on a German medium wasn't that thick and certainly not resistant to British 2pdr (en)
- Germany's most produced and arguably most successful tank, PzIV, was from 18 tons to 25 tons; the heaviest PzIV H was as heavy as the Matilda II. I don't think there's enough evidence to support Germany had a policy of superior armour and armament when their most produced tank is lighter than the Matilda, T-34 and M4. The claim is further disputed by the fact Britain moved from the Matilda II to the Valentine, a tank almost 10 tons lighter, in favour of not just cost but speed. What dates are we talking about? Which campaign? Without evidence or context, this feels like opinion. (en)
