- Das Anglican Communion Primates’ Meeting (dt. Treffen der Primates der Anglikanischen Gemeinschaft) ist eine alle zwei bis drei Jahre stattfindende Zusammenkunft der anglikanischen Primates, das heißt der obersten Erzbischöfe und Bischöfe einer jeden anglikanischen Provinz (National- bzw. Regionalkirche). Es gibt derzeit 38 Primates. Vorsitzender des Treffens ist der Erzbischof von Canterbury; als Sekretär dient der Generalsekretär der Anglikanischen Gemeinschaft. Das Primates’ Meeting wurde erstmals 1978 vom damaligen Erzbischof von Canterbury, Donald Coggan als eine Gelegenheit zu „ungehetztem Nachdenken, Gebet, und tiefgehende Beratung“ einberufen und fand 1979 statt. - The Anglican Communion Primates' Meetings are regular meetings of the primates in the Anglican Communion, i.e. the principal archbishops or bishops of each (often national) ecclesiastical province of the Anglican Communion. There are currently 38 primates of the Anglican Communion. The primates come together from the geographic provinces around the world for discussion and consultation. As primus inter pares of the communion, the Archbishop of Canterbury chairs the meetings, with the Secretary General of the Anglican Consultative Council (ACC) serving as secretary. "The Primates have no authority as a body and their own national churches determine how their ministry is carried out in their own context. The customs and responsibilities vary between provinces." The Primates' Meeting was established by Donald Coggan, Archbishop of Canterbury, in 1978 as an opportunity for “leisurely thought, prayer and deep consultation”. The first meeting was held in 1979.
