Im Mittelpunkt des Interesses steht das konkrete menschliche Verhalten in Organisationen, das immer in verschiedene inner- und außerorganisatorische Kontexte eingebettet ist. Dabei wird oft der Ansatz der Systemtheorie, insbesondere die Theorie sozialer Systeme angewandt und sich primär an den wirksamen Regeln der Interaktionen zwischen dem Einzelnen, der Gruppe, dem Gesamtsystem und seinem sozio-ökonomischen Umfeld orientiert. Im anglo-amerikanischen Sprachraum gehört Organizational Behavior zum Grundstock aller sozial- und wirtschaftswissenschaftlichen Studiengänge auf akademischem Niveau. In der Organisationstheorie gibt es eine Vielzahl verschiedener Ansätze, die eine Organisation jeweils aus einer speziellen Sicht beschreiben. Allen Ansätzen ist gemeinsam, dass sie Organisationen in starkem Maße als komplexe, dynamische Gebilde mit einem sozio-ökonomischen Mischcharakter ansehen. Организационное поведение — базисная научная дисциплина о причинах и факторах поведения людей в организации; область научных исследований, при которых используют теорию, методы и принципы различных дисциплин, с целью изучения индивидуальных представлений, ценностей, поступков при работе в группах и в целой организации. Організаційна поведінка (англ. Organizational behavior) — це наука, що вивчає поведінку людей в організації. Ці дослідження проводять для того, щоб зрозуміти хід думок людини, відчуття та поведінку тих хто працює в організаціях. Zachowanie organizacyjne to współczesna dyscyplina koncentrująca się na behawioralnych aspektach zarządzania. Dziedzina zachowania organizacyjnego, czerpie z szerokiej interdyscyplinarnej podstawy – z psychologii, socjologii, antropologii, ekonomii i medycyny. Przedstawiciele tego kierunku przyjmują całościowe spojrzenie na zachowanie, odnosząc je do procesów indywidualnych, grupowych i organizacyjnych. Ważnymi kwestiami są tu: zadowolenie z pracy, stres, motywacja, różnice indywidualne, cechy osobowości, postawy, przywództwo, dynamika grupowa, , konflikt międzyludzki oraz struktura i schemat organizacji. Podejście to zmieniło sposób myślenia menedżerów; traktują pracowników już nie tylko jako narzędzia, ale jako cenne zasoby. Złożoność zachowania indywidualnego utrudnia jednak jego trafne przewidywanie. Kontrakt określający wzajemne zachowania, to ogólny zestaw oczekiwań jednostki co do tego, jaki będzie jej wkład w organizację i co uzyska w zamian. Zachowanie w miejscu pracy to wzorzec działania członków organizacji, który bezpośrednio lub pośrednio wpływa na sprawność organizacji. Do ważnych zachowań w miejscu pracy należą: * dobra praca i wydajność, * absencja i fluktuacja kadr * poczucie przynależności do organizacji Comportamento Organizacional (CO) é o "estudo do comportamento humano em ambientes organizacionais, sendo a interface entre o comportamento desse indivíduo e a própria organização". A pesquisa em CO pode ser categorizada de pelo menos três maneiras: * indivíduos em organizações (nível micro); * grupos de trabalho (nível meso); * como as organizações se comportam (nível macro).
