- Die West Coast Conference ist eine aus zehn Universitäten bestehende Liga für diverse Sportarten, die in der NCAA Division I spielen. Alle zehn Mitglieder sind Privatuniversitäten mit religiösem Hintergrund. Sieben der zehn Universitäten sind der katholischen Kirche verbunden. Die Liga wurde 1952 gegründet. Die Mitglieder befinden sich alle an der Westküste der Vereinigten Staaten. Der Hauptsitz befindet sich in San Bruno im Bundesstaat Kalifornien. Die Brigham Young University, eine mit der Kirche Jesu Christi der Heiligen der Letzten Tage verbundene Universität mit Sitz in Provo, Utah, gab am 31. August 2010 bekannt, ab der Saison 2011/12 ihren Spielbetrieb von der Mountain West Conference in die West Coast Conference zu verlegen. (de)

Está formada por 10 miembros que compiten en 14 deportes (6 masculinos y 8 femeninos). Fue fundada en 1952 con el nombre de California Basketball Association por 5 universidades del Área de la Bahía de San Francisco en California. En 1956 cambió el nombre a West Coast Athletic Conference, y en 1989 al actual. Todos sus miembros son instituciones privadas de carácter cristiano. Siete son universidades católicas (cuatro de ellas Jesuitas), mientas que la Universidad del Pacífico es metodista, la Universidad Pepperdine es Congregacionalista, y la Universidad Brigham Young es Santo de los Últimos Días (mormona.) Está considerada como una de las mejores conferencias sin fútbol americano del país y una de las conferencias más estables, sin altas ni bajas de miembros desde hace más de 30 años. Los deportes más destacados son el fútbol, con 9 campeonatos nacionales, y el tenis, con 5 campeones individuales y un campeonato por equipos. Hay que destacar también el baloncesto masculino, con los dos campeonatos consecutivos que consiguió la Universidad de San Francisco de la mano del mítico Bill Russell. (es)

- The West Coast Conference (WCC) — known as the California Basketball Association from 1952 to 1956 and then as the West Coast Athletic Conference until 1989 — is a collegiate athletic conference affiliated with NCAA Division I consisting of ten member schools across the states of California, Oregon, Utah, and Washington. All of the current members are private, faith-based institutions. Seven members are Catholic Church affiliates, with four of these schools being Jesuit institutions. Pepperdine is an affiliate of the Churches of Christ. Brigham Young University is an affiliate of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The conference's newest member, the University of the Pacific (which rejoined in 2013 after a 42-year absence), is affiliated with the United Methodist Church, although it has been financially independent of the church since 1969.
