- Excalibur es una agrupación de superhéroes perteneciente al universo Marvel. La agrupación se forma tras dar por muertos a los X-Men, debido a los acontecimientos durante la saga “la Caída de los Mutantes. Su base de operaciones fue el Reino Unido. Poco a poco, el grupo fue transformándose en la versión europea de los X-Men. Tras una serie de aventuras, el grupo se traslada a la Isla Muir (Escocia). El equipo original desaparece en el año 1998. En el año 2004, surge un nuevo título llamado Excalibur, que no guarda relación con el equipo original. La base de operaciones de esta equipo fue la Isla de Genosha. Finalmente, en el año 2005, el formato original del equipo regresó con el nombre de New Excalibur ("Nuevo Excalibur"). (es)
- Excalibur is a fictional superhero group appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. They are depicted as an offshoot of the X-Men, usually based in the United Kingdom. Conceived by writer Chris Claremont and artist/co-writer Alan Davis, they first appeared in Excalibur Special Edition #1 (1987), also known as Excalibur: The Sword is Drawn. Stories involving this team have featured elements of both the X-Men and Captain Britain franchises, frequently involving cross-dimensional travel. The initial Excalibur roster, which was featured in the first eponymous series from 1988 to 1998, consisted of original Captain Britain Brian Braddock and his lover Meggan, along with three former members of the X-Men: Kitty Pryde, Nightcrawler, and Rachel Summers. A new iteration of the team was featured in the 2005 series until the title was replaced in 2008 by Captain Britain and MI13. Another Claremont-written series entitled Excalibur, though with no connection to the original team, chronicled the efforts of X-Men founder Professor Charles Xavier and his former nemesis Magneto to rebuild the mutant homeland of Genosha. The current iteration of the team is led by Betsy Braddock, who took up the Captain Britain mantle during the Dawn of X. (en)

Het originele Excalibur team bestond uit de Britse superheld Captain Britain, zijn geliefde en verschillende leden van de X-Men en andere teams van mutanten. De eerste serie liep van 1988 tot 1998, en hun avonturen speelden zich voor het grootste deel af in het Verenigd Koninkrijk. Daarna viel het excalibur team uit elkaar. In 2005 begon de serie New Excalibur, waarin Captain Britain de Excalibur groep met een aantal nieuwe leden nieuw leven in blaast om Londen te verdedigen. Tussen de oude en nieuwe Excalibur in verscheen er ook een andere serie getiteld Excalibur.
