Today, the term refers to all Evangelical Protestant denominations and organisations in Ethiopian and Eritrean societies as Ethiopian–Eritrean Evangelicalism or the Ethiopian–Eritrean Evangelical Church. Sometimes the denominations and organizations are also known as Wenigēlawī (from Ge'ez: ወንጌላዊ wängelawi).
