- Lance Macklin (2. září 1919 Kensington – 29. srpna 2002 ) byl britský automobilový závodník, účastník formule 1 v letech 1952–1955. Lance Macklin byl synem britského podnikatele s automobily Noela Macklina, mimo jiné i zakladatele automobilové společnosti a , výrobce motorových zbraní a torpédových člunů za druhé světové války. Jeho kariéra ve formuli 1 nebyla příliš úspěšná, během svého působení nezískal žádné body v mistrovství světa a to hlavně kvůli jeho vozu , který nebyl příliš konkurenceschopný. Nejlepšího výsledku dosáhl v roce 1952, když na trati v Silverstone zvítězil v prestižní BRDC International Trophy, byl to ale podnik, který se do mistrovství světa nezapočítával. V nemistrovských Grand Prix se mu dařilo nepoměrně více, kromě již zmiňovaného vítězství získal i druhá místa v a , dále nasbíral pár dalších dobrých výsledků. V roce 1955 startoval v závodě na 24 h Le Mans, kde se stal přímým účastníkem nehody při níž přišel o život a 80 diváků. Následovala další havárie při závodě Tourist Trophy na okruhu v , kdy zničil svůj Austin, když se vyhýbal místu nehody při které zemřeli a . Tyto události rozhodly, že Lance Macklin ukončil svou kariéru a definitivně odešel z motorsportu. (cs)

- Francis M. Lancelot Macklin (Londra, 2 settembre 1919 – Bethersden, 29 agosto 2002) è stato un pilota automobilistico britannico che ha gareggiato anche in Formula 1. Oltre che nelle competizioni per le monoposto, con le quali il risultato di maggior prestigio è la vittoria alla BRDC International Trophy del 1952, gara non valida per il Campionato Mondiale, ha gareggiato anche con le vetture a ruote coperte, partecipando a diverse edizioni della 24 Ore di Le Mans, compresa quella funesta del 1955 in cui rimase incolpevolmente coinvolto nell'incidente in cui morirono Pierre Levegh e 83 spettatori. In seguito, dopo essere stato coinvolto in un secondo incidente durante il Tourist Trophy automobilistico, si ritirò dalle competizioni. Morì nel 2002 ed il suo corpo è stato cremato. (it)
