El Reino de Altava fue un estado sucesor del anterior «Reino Mauro-Romano» que había controlado gran parte de la antigua provincia romana de Mauritania Cesariense. Este Reino colapsó como consecuencia de las campañas militares romanas orientales para disminuir su influencia y poder, después de que invadiera el Exarcado de África. El colapso del Reino Mauro-Romano condujo al surgimiento de varios pequeños reinos bereberes en la región, incluido el Reino de Altava, que se centró en la capital del antiguo reino. - The Kingdom of Altava was an independent Berber kingdom centered on the city of Altava in present-day northern Algeria. The Kingdom of Altava was a successor state of the previous Mauro-Roman Kingdom which had controlled much of the ancient Roman province of Mauretania Caesariensis and during the reign of Kusaila extended from Volubilis in the west to the Aurès and later Kairaouan and the interior of Ifriqiya in the east. This Kingdom collapsed following Eastern Roman military campaigns to decrease its influence and power after Garmul invaded the Exarchate of Africa. The collapse of the Mauro-Roman Kingdom lead to the rise of several petty berber kingdoms in the region, including the Kingdom of Altava, which was centered on the capital of the older kingdom. The kingdom continued to exist in the Maghreb until the conquest of the region by the Umayyad Caliphate in the seventh and eighth centuries. (en)
- Le royaume d'Altava (en tamazight : ⵜⴰⴳⵍⴷⵉⵜ ⵏ ⴰⵍⵜⴰⴱⴰ ) est un royaume berbère indépendant centré sur la ville d'Altava dans le nord de l'actuelle Algérie. Le royaume d'Altava est un état successeur de l'ancien royaume des Maures et des Romains qui contrôlait une grande partie de l'ancienne province romaine de Maurétanie césarienne. Ce royaume s'effondre à la suite des campagnes militaires des Byzantins visant à réduire son influence et son pouvoir après que le roi Garmul ait envahi l’exarchat d’Afrique. L'effondrement du royaume des Maures et des Romains entraîne la montée de plusieurs petits royaumes berbères dans la région, notamment le royaume d'Altava, qui est centré sur la capitale de l'ancien royaume.
