  • The International Bank Account Number (IBAN) is an international standard for identifying bank accounts across national borders. It was originally adopted by the European Committee for Banking Standards, and was later adopted as ISO 13616:1997 and now as ISO 13616:2007. The official IBAN registrar under ISO 13616:2003 is SWIFT and the IBAN registry is currently at [http://www.swift.com/index.cfm?item_id=61332 SWIFT]. The IBAN was originally developed to facilitate payments within the European Union but the format is flexible enough to be applied globally. Customers, especially individuals and SMEs, are frequently confused by differing national standards for bank account numbers. IBAN imposes a flexible but regular format for account identification and contains validation information to avoid errors of transcription. The IBAN's primary purpose is therefore to facilitate routing and avoid routing errors. The IBAN consists of a ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 country code, followed by two check digits (represented by kk in the examples below), and up to thirty alphanumeric characters for the domestic bank account number, called the BBAN (Basic Bank Account Number). It is up to each country's national banking community to decide on the length of the BBAN for accounts in that country, but its length must be fixed for any given country. The IBAN must not contain spaces when stored electronically. When printed on paper, however, the norm is to express it in groups of four characters, the last group being of variable length. (en)
  • Habitante de hontoria adicto a los videojuegos El International Bank Account Number (o IBAN) es una serie de caracteres alfanuméricos que identifican una cuenta determinada en una entidad financiera en cualquier lugar del mundo (al momento solo en Europa). Es decir, a cada cuenta le corresponde un único IBAN y a través del IBAN se identifica el país, la entidad, la oficina y la cuenta. Se trata de un estándar (EBS204) del Comité Europeo de Estándares Bancarios, que a su vez cumple con el estándar ISO 13616. El objetivo del IBAN es facilitar el tratamiento automático de pagos y cobros transfronterizos.   • ISO 13616:2003 est une norme internationale intitulée Banque et services financiers connexes -- Numéro de compte bancaire international (IBAN) élaborée par l'Organisation internationale de normalisation (ISO) et le European Committee for Banking Standards (ECBS). IBAN est l'acronyme de International Bank Account Number. La norme spécifie les éléments du numéro de compte bancaire du bénéficiaire de paiements transfrontaliers. Elle permet une identification homogène des comptes bancaires dans tous les pays, identifie de manière unique un compte bancaire quel que soit l'endroit où il est tenu. Elle est utilisée pour faciliter le traitement automatisé des paiements transfrontaliers. Pouvant se substituer au BIC, l'IBAN permet d'effectuer un transfert transfrontalier dont le coût pour le titulaire du compte ne dépasse pas le coût d'un virement dans le réseau national de la banque. Bien qu'un IBAN identifie autant un numéro de compte que l'agence de ce compte, les banques européennes demandent l'utilisation conjointe du BIC et de l'IBAN pour identifier les bénéficiaires des virements européens. Fu originariamente ideato dal Comitato Europeo per gli Standard Bancari (European Committee for Banking Standards) e successivamente fu adottato dall'ISO come standard ISO 13616:1997. Il codice IBAN (International Bank Account Number) è definito a livello internazionale e consiste in: *2 lettere rappresentanti la Nazione (IT per l'Italia) *2 cifre di controllo *il codice BBAN nazionale.Spetta alle banche nazionali definire la formulazione del BBAN dello stato di appartenenza con l'obbligo di mantenere una lunghezza fissa per ogni singola nazione (BBAN della stessa nazione devono avere la stessa lunghezza, per l'Italia il BBAN è stato fissato a 23 caratteri prevedendo un carattere (lettera) per il CIN, 5 (numeri) per l'ABI, 5 (numeri) per il CAB e 12 cifre (alfanumeriche) per il conto corrente, portando quindi l'IBAN ad un totale di 27 caratteri) e di contenere in una ben determinata posizione un codice per identificare la banca. L'IBAN fu sviluppato con l'intento di semplificare le transazioni economiche tra persone fisiche o Piccole e medie imprese (PMI) spesso confuse dalla differenze di codici delle varie nazioni europee. Purtroppo lo standard non è ancora ampiamente diffuso (soprattutto al di fuori dell'Europa), quindi è ancora caldamente consigliato (e spesso richiesto dalla banca stessa) l'uso del codice BIC (o SWIFT). Dal 1 gennaio 2008 l'uso dell'IBAN è diventato obbligatorio per i bonifici nazionali (in sostituzione delle coordinate bancarie ABI, CAB e numero di conto) e per quelli diretti nell'area SEPA. I bonifici disposti senza indicazione del codice IBAN saranno accettati fino all'1 giugno 2008 senza ulteriori costi. Basic Bank Account Number - Podstawowy Numer Rachunku Bankowego). Decyzja o długości tego bloku należy do poszczególnych krajów, z tym, że dany kraj musi posiadać jedną, określoną długość. W BBAN musi się zawierać unikatowy kod identyfikujący bank, o określonej długości i określonej cyfrze od której się on rozpoczyna. Jego pozycja i długość również zależy od danego kraju. W transakcjach elektronicznych kod IBAN powinien być przechowywany w jednym ciągu, bez spacji, jednakże w przypadku dokumentów na papierze powinien być zapisywany w grupach po cztery znaki, przy czym ostatnia grupa może mieć ich dowolną liczbę (ze względu na różną liczbę cyfr w poszczególnych krajach). Kod IBAN został utworzony, by wspomóc obsługę płatności w Unii Europejskiej.
