In de Nederlandse Top 40 stond het nummer rond de jaarwisseling tussen 1990 en 1991 zes weken op nummer 1. Er ontstond controverse rond Vanilla Ice toen hij beweerde geen rechten te hebben om Under Pressure te gebruiken in zijn nummer. Desondanks is er nooit een rechtszaak tegen de rapper geweest. David Bowie en de leden van Queen worden genoemd als de schrijvers van de muziek. Jaren later bracht dit nummer de rapper opnieuw problemen, toen Suge Knight van Death Row Records beweerde dat een vriend de teksten had geschreven. Vanilla Ice strooide met verwarring door onderscheid te maken tussen de teksten die getiteld waren onder 'Ice Eyes Baby' en deze van 'Ice Ice Baby'. Om de rechten voor het nummer te krijgen zou Knight Vanilla Ice naar men zegt aan zijn enkels over een balkon hebben gehangen. De rapper heeft dit gerucht zowel bekend als verworpen als onzin, ook heeft hij gezegd alleen rustig met Suge Knight te hebben gepraat over de rechten.
