- Z hlediska geomorfologického členění je Česko velmi rozmanitým teritoriem; nachází se na území čtyř geomorfologických provincií. Zdaleka největší rozsah z nich má Česká vysočina, k níž náleží 3/4 území ČR (celé Čechy a západní část Moravy a Slezska až k Brnu a Ostravě). Jihovýchodní a východní část českého území patří k Západním Karpatům. Zbylé dvě provincie zasahují pouze malou část českého území. Na jihovýchodě je to Dolnomoravským úvalem Západopanonská pánev, na severovýchodě Opavskou pahorkatinou Středoevropská nížina. Vědecké geomorfologické členění jde do detailů – provincie (řádově desetitisíce km²) se dále podrobněji člení na soustavy (někdy zvané též subprovincie), podsoustavy (někdy též oblasti), celky, podcelky a okrsky (řádově desítky km²). Sie entstand in den 1970er-Jahren und wurde in Einzelheiten mehrfach revidiert. Das Land gliedert sich in vier geomorphologische Provinzen. Den weitaus größten Anteil hat die Böhmische Masse, welche etwa drei Viertel des Landes einnimmt. Der Rest entfällt auf die Westkarpaten und das Wiener Becken im Südosten und einen kleinen Teil des Schlesischen Tieflands im Nordosten, der zum mitteleuropäischen Tiefland gehört. Das Böhmische Massiv und das Schlesische Tiefland gehören dem herzynischen System, die Westkarpaten und das Wiener Becken dem alpidischen Gebirgssystem. (de)
- In terms of geomorphological division, the Czech Republic is a very diverse territory, located in the territory of four geomorphological provinces within four geomorphological subsystems. The Bohemian Massif within the sub-system of Hercynian Forest forms three quarters of the country. The southeastern and eastern part of the Czech territory belongs to the Western Carpathians within the Carpathian Mountains. The remaining two provinces, within the Pannonian Basin and North European Plain within the European Plain, cover only a small part of the Czech territory in the southeast and the northeast. The provinces are further subdivided into subprovinces, macroregions, mesoregions, microregions and areas. The generally accepted division of the relief of the Czech Republic into subprovinces, macroregions and mesoregions is given below. (en)
