- The 1st Annual Interactive Achievement Awards is the 1st edition of the Interactive Achievement Awards, an annual awards event that honors the best games in the video game industry. The awards are arranged by the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences (AIAS), and were held at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia. There was not an official host of the award ceremony. GoldenEye 007 received the most nominations, and took home the most awards, including Interactive Title of the Year of the Year. Electronic Arts and Sony Computer Entertainment were tied with having the most nominations. Rare and Nintendo won the most awards, with Rare as the developer and Nintendo as the publisher. Shigeru Miyamoto was also the first inductee of the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences Hall of Fame. (en)
- A 1.ª cerimônia de entrega dos Interactive Achievement Awards (ou Interactive Achievement Awards 1998, no original em inglês: 1st Annual Interactive Achievement Awards) foi a primeira transmissão de premiação organizada pela Academia de Artes e Ciências Interativas (AIAS), no qual homenageou os melhores jogos da indústria de jogos eletrônicos lançados no ano de 1997. A premiação ocorreu em 28 de maio de 1998 no Georgia World Congress Center em Atlanta, Georgia, nos Estados Unidos, durante o período da E3 1998, quarta edição da feira de convenções de jogos eletrônicos, onde conteve financiamento extra da Entertainment Software Association (ESA), organizadora da E3. A cerimônia indicou mais de 70 títulos para suas 26 categorias, no qual duas delas foram dedicadas a premiar veículos de informações da indústria de jogos. GoldenEye 007 foi o jogo com maior número de indicações e prêmios recebidos na cerimônia, incluindo o maior prêmio de Título Interativo do Ano. Shigeru Miyamoto da Nintendo recebeu uma homenagem por suas contribuições significativas para a indústria, entrando para o AIAS Hall da Fama, consequentemente sendo o prêmio desenvolvedor a conseguir o prêmio.
