- Die Partidul Democrat (PD, „Demokratische Partei“; anfangs auch Partidul Democrat – Frontul Salvării Naționale, PD-FSN) war eine politische Partei in Rumänien mit zunächst sozialdemokratischer und liberaler, später liberal-konservativer Ausrichtung. - The Democratic Party (Romanian: Partidul Democrat, PD) was a social democratic and, later on, centre-right political party in Romania. In January 2008, it merged with the Liberal Democratic Party (PLD), a splinter group of the National Liberal Party (PNL), to form the Democratic Liberal Party (PDL). From 1996 to 2005, the party was a member of the Socialist International (SI). From 2004 to 2007, the PD was the junior member of the governing Justice and Truth Alliance (DA), although according to many Romanian opinion polls of the time, it remained the most popular of the two parties. Although it had to formally suspend his leadership to the party when elected president in 2004, the PD was largely associated with former Romanian president Traian Băsescu. (en)

- Il Partito Democratico (in rumeno Partidul Democrat, PD) è stato un partito politico rumeno. Nato nel 1993, si richiamava alla socialdemocrazia e si presentava come il prosecutore del Fronte di Salvezza Nazionale (FSN) dell'ex primo ministro Petre Roman. Alle elezioni del 1996 ottenne il 13%, contribuì in modo decisivo all'elezione di Emil Constantinescu alla presidenza della repubblica e fino al 2000 fece parte di una coalizione di governo insieme a diverse forze di centro-destra. Il crollo alle elezioni del 2000 (7%), tuttavia, causò della fine della presidenza di Roman, che nel 2001 fu sostituito alla guida del PD da Traian Băsescu. - O Partido Democrático (em romeno: Partidul Democrat, PD) foi um partido político da Roménia. A Frente de Salvação Nacional, criado após a Revolução Romena de 1989, e que governava o país desde então, em 1992, tinha-se divido em duas facções: a ala social-democrata, liderada por Ion Iliescu, que, nesse ano, rompia com a FSN e criava a Frente Democrática de Salvação Nacional, antecessor do actual do Partido Social-Democrata e, outra, liderada por Petre Roman, que, inicialmente continuou na FSN, até que, em 1993, foi decidido renomear a FSN de Partido Democrático. Inicialmente, o PD, ideologicamente, definia-se como um partido de centro-esquerda de linha social-democrata e pró-europeísta, mas, a partir de final da década de 1990, o PD moveu-se para o centro-direita, seguindo uma linha democrata-cristã, conservadora e defensor do liberalismo económico. Esta mudança ideológica, levou que o PD, membro da Internacional Socialista desde 1996, em 2005 saísse de dita Internacional e, passasse a ser membro do Partido Popular Europeu.
