- عاشت المرأة العراقية في بلاد مابين النهرين مراحل مختلفة في معترك الحياة، فكانت لها مكانة مرموقة لم تصل لها نظيراتها إلا بعد عناء طويل، لكنها عانت أيضًا من الظلم والتهميش لسنين طويلة، واستطاعت أن ترتقي بواقعها على مر العصور نحو التقدم، فخاضت أشواطا مختلفة، ولعبت دورًا مركزيًا، وأثرت في الحضارات المختلفة على مر الأزمان. - The status of women in Iraq at the beginning of the 21st century is affected by many factors: wars (most recently the Iraq War), sectarian religious, is not a resinous conflict, debates concerning Islamic law and Iraq's Constitution, cultural traditions, and modern secularism. Hundreds of thousands of Iraqi women are widowed as a result of a series of wars and internal conflicts. Women's rights organizations struggle against harassment and intimidation, while they work to promote improvements to women's status in the law, in education, the workplace, and many other spheres of Iraqi life, and to curtail abusive traditional practices such as honor killings and forced marriages. - Le donne irachene dall'inizio del XXI secolo si trovano immerse in una situazione di guerra, tumulti e rivolte sociali. Il diritto di voto è stato conseguito nel 1980. Il loro status è influenzato da molti fattori: non solamente la guerra in Iraq, ma anche il conflitto religioso settario tra sunniti e sciiti, i dibattiti concernenti il diritto islamico e la costituzione statale, le tradizioni culturali ed infine il secolarismo moderno. donne irachene nel 2004 Centinaia di migliaia di donne irachene si ritrovano ad essere vedove e sole a causa di tutta una serie di guerre e conflitti interni; le organizzazioni che lottano a favore dei diritti delle donne sono impegnate contro le molestie e l'intimidazione nei posti di lavoro, per promuovere miglioramenti nella condizione femminile attraverso interventi legislativi, in materia d'istruzione ed in molti altri settori.
