- La Resolució 2118 del Consell de Seguretat de les Nacions Unides fou adoptada per unanimitat el 27 de setembre de 2013, pel que fa al Marc per a l' durant la Guerra Civil siriana. Va recordar les resolucions del Consell de Seguretat de les Nacions Unides 1540, 2042 i 2043 i es va produir al marge del . Síria té fins a mitjans de 2014 per destruir el seu arsenal d'armes químiques; i la resolució també esbossa els plans per a una transició. It recalled United Nations Security Council Resolutions 1540, 2042 and 2043 and occurred on the sidelines of the General debate of the sixty-eighth session of the United Nations General Assembly. Under the Resolution, Syria had until mid-2014 to destroy its chemical weapons arsenal; and the Resolution also outlines plans for a transition. - Resolutie 2118 van de Veiligheidsraad van de Verenigde Naties werd door de VN-Veiligheidsraad unaniem aangenomen op 27 september 2013. De resolutie veroordeelde het gebruik van chemische wapens in Syrië, verbood dat land om nog dergelijke wapens te bezitten, stond achter het plan deze te vernietigen en vroeg om een internationale conferentie over de situatie in het land. Syrië bezat naar schatting duizend ton chemische wapens. Die moesten tegen 1 juli 2014 allemaal vernietigd zijn, terwijl de productiefaciliteiten tegen 1 november 2013 ontmanteld moesten zijn. Op gevolgen voor het eventueel niet nakomen hiervan werd niet verder ingegaan. (nl)
