- The Silver Line is a rapid transit line of the Washington Metro system, consisting of 34 stations in Loudoun County, Fairfax County and Arlington County, Virginia, the District of Columbia, as well as Prince George's County, Maryland. The Silver Line runs from Ashburn in Virginia to Downtown Largo in Maryland. Five stations, from both lines' eastern terminus at Downtown Largo to Benning Road, are shared with the Blue Line alone; thirteen stations, from Stadium–Armory to Rosslyn, with both the Orange and Blue lines; and five stations from Court House to East Falls Church with the Orange Line alone. Only the five stations which began service on July 26, 2014, and the six stations which opened on November 15, 2022, are exclusive to the Silver Line. The 11.7-mile (18.8 km) portion of the Silver Line between its split from the Orange Line and the Wiehle–Reston East station is entirely in Fairfax County, Virginia and was constructed as Phase 1 of the Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project. Phase 2 expanded the line another 11.5 miles (18.5 km) to Ashburn in Loudoun County, via Washington Dulles International Airport, adding six stations to the line. Construction of Phase 2 began in 2014; its opening occurred on November 15, 2022. The $6.8 billion and 41.1 miles (66.1 km) Silver Line is Metro's largest expansion by route mileage since its inception in 1976. (en)

- De Silver Line (SL) (vertaald: de zilveren lijn) is een Amerikaanse metrolijn in Washington D.C. van de metro van Washington uitgebaat door de Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA). De lijn werd op 26 juli 2014 geopend als de jongste van de zes metrolijnen van het metronet. In deze eerste fase heeft de lijn 28 stations en verbindt in Reston, Fairfax County, Virginia met in Lake Arbor, Prince George's County, Maryland. De lijn overbrugt een afstand langs het spoornet van 47,6 km. De lijn doorkruist naast Loudoun County en Fairfax County in Virginia ook Arlington alvorens het District of Columbia te bedienen evenals Prince George's County in Maryland. De lijn heeft enkel in het westelijk deel eigen bedding en stations waar het in fase 1 vijf eigen stations heeft (vanaf vermoedelijk 2020 in fase 2 uitgebreid tot elf stations). Vervolgens loopt de lijn vanaf samen met de Orange Line in een traject met vijf stations. Het stadscentrum wordt dan bediend door 13 stations tussen en waar zowel de Blue Line als de Orange Line samenvallen met het traject van de Silver Line.
