- Hans Rothfels (* 12. April 1891 in Kassel; † 22. Juni 1976 in Tübingen) war ein deutscher Historiker. Rothfels war ein Neuzeithistoriker, der während der Zeit des Nationalsozialismus über das Vereinigte Königreich in die Vereinigten Staaten emigrierte. Vor dem Zweiten Weltkrieg Professor an der Albertus-Universität Königsberg, lehrte er später an der University of Chicago und der Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen. Er gilt als Nestor der modernen deutschen Zeitgeschichtsforschung, der u. a. Hans Mommsen und Heinrich August Winkler als Schüler hervorbrachte. (de)
- Hans Rothfels (12 April 1891 – 22 June 1976) was a German nationalist conservative historian. He supported an idea of authoritarian German state, dominance of Germany over Europe and was hostile to Germany's eastern neighbours. After his applications for honorary Aryan status were rejected, due to his Jewish ancestry and increased persecution of Jewish people by Nazis, he was forced to emigrate to the United Kingdom and later to the United States during the Second World War, after which he became opposed to the Nazi regime. Rothfels returned to West Germany after 1945 where he continued to influence history teaching and became an influential figure among West German scholars. (en)

Ele defendeu a ideia de um Estado alemão autoritário, a dominância da Alemanha sobre a Europa e a hostilidade aos vizinhos orientais do país. Após ter seus pedidos pelo status ariano honorário rejeitados devido à sua descendência judaica e por causa da grande perseguição dos judeus pelos nazistas, ele foi forçado a emigrar para a Grã-Bretanha e depois para os Estados Unidos durante a Segunda Guerra Mundial logo após se opor ao regime nazista.
