Northumbria University (legally the University of Northumbria at Newcastle) is a UK public university located in Newcastle upon Tyne, North East of England. It has been a university since 1992, but has its origins in the Rutherford College, founded in 1877. Northumbria is a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities, Universities UK and the Wallace Group. The University is ranked top 25 in the UK for the number of graduates entering professional employment, with nine out of ten graduates working or studying six months after graduation.
