- New Zealand Offshore Islands, manchmal auch als New Zealand Outlying Islands bezeichnet, ist eine Sammelbezeichnung für sieben Inselgruppen, die außerhalb der beiden Hauptinseln Neuseelands und Stewart Island liegen, jedoch kein abhängiges Gebiet wie Tokelau und auch kein selbstverwaltetes Territorium in „freier Assoziierung mit Neuseeland“ wie Niue oder die Cook Islands darstellen. Folgende Inselgruppen bzw. Inseln, von Nord nach Süd gelistet, zählen zu den New Zealand Offshore Islands: Permanent bewohnt sind nur die Chatham Islands, die aber eine eigene Region bilden und nicht zu den „Offshore Islands“ gehören. Eine bemannte meteorologische Station gibt es auf zu den Kermadec Islands gehörenden Raoul Island und eine seit 1995 unbemannte meteorologische Station existiert auf Campbell Island. Die fünf südlichsten Inselgruppen wurden im Dezember 1998 zum UNESCO-Weltnaturerbe „New Zealand Sub-Antarctic Islands“ zusammengefasst und dürfen nicht oder nur unter Auflagen betreten werden. (de)
- The New Zealand outlying islands are nine offshore island groups that are part of New Zealand, with all but Solander Islands lying beyond the 12nm limit of the mainland's territorial waters. Although considered an integral parts of New Zealand, seven of the nine island groups are not part of any administrative region or district, but are instead each designated as an Area Outside Territorial Authority. The two exceptions are the Chatham Islands, which are covered by their own special territorial authority, and the Solander Islands, which are part of the Southland Region and Southland District. Eight island groups sit on the New Zealand continental shelf, which forms a part of Zealandia. The Kermadec Islands, northeast of mainland New Zealand, are on a ridge, whose location as part or not part of Zealandia is not yet proven by geologists. Both sources show a map drawn of Zealandia, marking the location of islands north and south of New Zealand. The term is also used sometimes to further encompass the Balleny Islands, a group of sub-Antarctic islands technically considered a part of the Ross Dependency and covered by the Antarctic Treaty. The five island groups of the New Zealand Subantarctic Islands, including their territorial seas, are a World Heritage Site. (en)
- Les îles éloignées de Nouvelle-Zélande, en anglais New Zealand outlying islands, désignent neuf archipels de la Nouvelle-Zélande dont certains ne font partie d'aucune région ni autorité territoriale. Cependant, l'expression « îles éloignées de Nouvelle-Zélande » ne désigne pas pour autant une entité administrative. Ces archipels sont :
* les îles Kermadec ;
* les îles des Trois Rois ;
* les îles Chatham ;
* les îles Solander ;
* et les îles sub-antarctiques de Nouvelle-Zélande qui sont :
* les îles des Antipodes,
* les îles Auckland,
* les îles Bounty,
* les îles Campbell,
* les Snares. À l'exception des îles Chatham, elles sont inhabitées. Elles sont toutes d'origine volcanique mais seules les îles Kermadec sont encore actives avec notamment l'île Raoul. (fr)
