- Myanmarské námořnictvo je námořní složkou myanmarských . Malé myanmarské námořnictvo, operující především při pobřeží a na řekách, od roku 2000 prochází významnou modernizací a expanzí s cílem dostat se na úroveň svého regionálního rivala – bangladéšského námořnictva. K roku 2007 mělo cca 16 000 příslušníků a 122 plavidel. Jádro jeho sil tvoří lehké fregaty, korvety a raketové čluny. Velitelství námořnictva sídlí v Rangúnu. - The Myanmar Navy (Burmese: တပ်မတော် (ရေ); [taʔmədɔ̀ jè]) is the naval warfare branch of the armed forces of Myanmar. With 24,000 personnel on duty, the navy operates more than 150 vessels. Prior to 1988, the navy was small, and its role in counter-insurgency operations was smaller than those of the army and the air force. The navy has since been expanded to take on a more active role in defense of Myanmar's territorial waters. (en)

Il ruolo della Marina militare birmana è di pattugliare l'immensa linea costiera del paese, assicurare la sicurezza delle acque territoriali e della zona economica esclusiva (ZEE), per proteggere gli interessi marittimi strategici del paese e delle isole circostanti e difendere il paese dalle minacce marittime.
