- General José Jerónimo de los Dolores Treviño y Leal, conocido simplemente como Jerónimo Treviño (Cadereyta Jiménez, Nuevo León; 17 de noviembre de 1835 - Laredo, Texas; 13 de noviembre de 1914) fue un destacado militar y político mexicano que participó en la Guerra de Reforma y en la Segunda Intervención Francesa en México, guerras en las cuales destacó en varios hechos de armas. Después de la caída del imperio de Maximiliano fue Gobernador del Estado de Nuevo León en varias ocasiones, y entre 1880 y 1881 fue Secretario de Guerra y Marina de México en el gabinete del Manuel González Flores. Junto con el general Francisco Naranjo se convirtió en el hombre fuerte del noreste del País, con el apoyo del gobernador Genaro Garza García. Sin embargo, su influencia y poder en la entidad fueron disminuyendo con la llegada al poder del general Bernardo Reyes. Llegó a participar en los inicios de la Revolución Mexicana tras la caída de Bernardo Reyes, y apoyo a Francisco I. Madero en el derrocamiento de Porfirio Díaz. Tras los sucesos de la Decena Trágica y la subida al poder de Victoriano Huerta, fue nombrado nuevamente gobernador de Nuevo León, cargo en el cual duró un mes. Rechazó formar parte del movimiento contra Huerta, por lo que partió al exilio. (es)
- José Jerónimo de los Dolores Treviño y Leal, commonly known as Jerónimo Treviño was a prominent Mexican General and politician. He was a veteran of the Reform War and the Second French intervention in Mexico which he gained fame for his participation in several battles. After the fall of the Second Mexican Empire, Treviño served as the Governor of Nuevo León on several terms as well as the Secretary of War and Navy of Mexico from December 1, 1880, to December 31, 1881, under the cabinet of Manuel González Flores. Along with General , he became the strong man of the northeast of the country, with the support of Governor . However, his influence and power in Mexico diminished with the coming to power of General Bernardo Reyes. He came to participate in the beginning of the Mexican Revolution after the fall of Bernardo Reyes, and Francisco I. Madero in the overthrow of Porfirio Díaz. After the events of the Ten Tragic Days and the rise to power of Victoriano Huerta, he was reappointed Governor of Nuevo León, a position in which he lasted a month. He refused to be part of the movement against Huerta, so he went into exile in the United States, where he later died. (en)
