- Hutu-Power (zu deutsch: Hutu-Macht) ist eine rassistische und ethnonationalistische Ideologie extremistischer Hutus in Ruanda. - Hutu Power is a racial and ethnosupremacist ideology that asserts the ethnic superiority of Hutu, often in the context of being superior to Tutsi and Twa, and that therefore they are entitled to dominate and murder these two groups and other minorities. Espoused by Hutu extremists, widespread support for the ideology led to the 1994 Rwandan genocide against the Tutsi and moderate Hutu who opposed the killings. Hutu Power political parties and movements included the Akazu, the Coalition for the Defence of the Republic and its Impuzamugambi paramilitary militia, and the governing National Republican Movement for Democracy and Development and its Interahamwe paramilitary militia. The theory of Hutu people being superior is most common in Rwanda and Burundi, where they make up the majority of the population. Due to its sheer destructiveness, the ideology has been compared to historical Nazism in the Western world. Hassan Ngeze in 1990 created the Hutu Ten Commandments, a document that served as the basis of Hutu Power ideology. The Commandments called for the supremacy of Hutus in Rwanda, calling for exclusive Hutu leadership over Rwanda's public institutions and public life, complete segregation of Hutus from Tutsis, and complete exclusion of Tutsis from public institutions and public life. Hutu Power ideology reviled Tutsis as outsiders bent on restoring a Tutsi-dominated monarchy, and idealized Hutu culture. (en)
- Le Hutu Power est un mouvement idéologique d'extrémistes hutus au Rwanda partisan du nationalisme ethnique. Son nom tient du mot d'ordre utilisé par ses dignitaires pour exprimer en anglais le pouvoir exclusif des Hutus sur un Rwanda purifié de la présence des Tutsis. Il a d’ailleurs contribué au Génocide des Tutsi au Rwanda ainsi qu'au massacre de Hutus modérés en 1994. Le Hutu Power fut fondé en février 1993 à la suite d'une attaque du Front patriotique rwandais qui mit les forces gouvernementales en déroute et provoquèrent la fuite d'un million de civils durant la guerre civile rwandaise. Selon , un conseiller politique au cabinet du président du Rwanda Paul Kagamé, son noyau, l’Akazu, est d’ailleurs constitué de proches de la famille de feu l’ancien président Rwandais Juvénal Habyarimana et de celle de son épouse, Agathe Habyarimana. Le mouvement a animé le gouvernement intérimaire rwandais, constitué dans les jours qui suivirent l’attentat du 6 avril 1994 contre le président Habyarimana. Ce gouvernement a entraîné dans son action exterminatrice un grand nombre de paysans, instituteurs, médecins, universitaires, commerçants, juges, religieux, bourgmestres, préfets, grâce à une campagne médiatique puissante et efficace lancée depuis 1993, par la Radio Mille collines, et la formation en 1992 d’une milice de jeunes, les Interahamwe. O Poder Hutu incitou o governo interino ruandês, formado nos dias que se seguiram ao atentado de 6 de abril de 1994 contra o presidente Juvénal Habyarimana.
