- Les llengües hispanocèltiques són un grup de llengües cèltiques en el qual s'inclouen totes les parles celtes que es parlaven a la Península Ibèrica abans de l'arribada dels romans (el 218 a.C., durant la Segona Guerra Púnica). Algunes d'aquestes llengües estan documentades per l'epigrafia, altres es poden conèixer, amb major o menor grau, a partir de dades onomàstiques. Les llengües hispanocèltiques formen part del grup de les llengües cèltiques continentals, però aquesta adscripció és essencialment definida per raons geogràfiques, ja que per ara no hi ha evidències lingüístiques en el sentit que formassin un grup amb una relació filogenètica. - Hispano-Celtic is a term for all forms of Celtic spoken in the Iberian Peninsula before the arrival of the Romans (c. 218 BC, during the Second Punic War). In particular, it includes:
* A northeastern inland language attested at a relatively late date in the extensive corpus of Celtiberian. This variety, which Jordán Cólera proposed to name northeastern Hispano-Celtic, has long been synonymous with the term Hispano-Celtic and is universally accepted as Celtic.
* A language in the northwest corner of the peninsula, with a northern and western boundary marked by the Atlantic Ocean, a southern boundary along the river Douro, and an eastern boundary marked by Oviedo, which Jordán Cólera has proposed to call northwestern Hispano-Celtic, where there is a corpus of Latin inscriptions containing isolated words and sentences that are clearly Celtic. Algunas de estas lenguas están atestiguadas epigráficamente aunque otras pueden ser variedades reconstruibles a partir de la onomástica celta de diferentes regiones y que complementan los datos epigráficos estrictos. Usualmente se clasifica a las lenguas hispano-celtas como parte del grupo de las lenguas célticas continentales. No existe envidencia filogenética de que las lenguas hispano-célticas formaran un grupo filogenético, si bien su adscripción al céltico sí está perfectamente clara. (es)
