- جسر غيتسهيد ميلينيوم أو جسر الألفية في غيتسهيد (بالإنجليزيّة: Gateshead Millennium Bridge) يُطلق عليه عندما يكون في حركة الميول جسر رمشة العين هو جسر مائل قابل للحركة مُخصَّص للمشاة والدرّاجات، يقطع نهر تاين في مقاطعة تاين ووير في إنجلترا، المملكة المتحدة تحديدًا بين مدينتيّ نيوكاسل أبون تاين وغيتسهيد. تم الانتهاء من بنائه عام 2001 احتفاءً بالألفيّة الثالثة. يُعد الجسر بمثابة رمزًا للمشروع القائم الذي يهدف إلى إعادة إحياء واجهة رصيف ميناء غيتسهيد المُطلّة على نهر تاين، ويقع إلى جانب مركز البلطيق للفن المعاصر، وعلى مقربة من مسرح سايج غيتسهيد، حيث يتماثل قوسه المُميَّز في شكله مع الشكل العام لسقف المسرح المجاور. - Gateshead Millennium Bridge je pravděpodobně první s naklápěním na světě. Architekti tohoto mostu jsou Wilkinson Eyre z Velké Británie. Spojuje Gateshead a Newcastle upon Tyne v severovýchodní Anglii. Stavba mostu stála 22 milionů liber. Most Milénia v Gatesheadu je neobvyklá stavba, která v sobě spojuje prvky obloukového mostu s naklápěcím mechanismem, díky kterému pod ním mohou po řece Tyne proplouvat lodě. Most má hlavní pole o rozpětí 105 m a jeho celková délka je 126 m, mostovka je 8 m široká. Půdorysně zakřivená ocelová je zavěšena ocelovými závěsy na parabolický ocelový oblouk. Zakřivení mostovky tak tvoří protizávaží k oblouku, jak je patrné ve zvednuté poloze. Oblouk je osazen válcovými čepy – díky nimž se může celý most otáčet – na betonových opěrách přistavěnými k nábřeží. Naklápěcí mechanismus je opatřen hydraulickými čerpadly. Most převádí cestu pro pěší a cyklostezku. Most Milénia doplnil řadu několika dalších pozoruhodných mostů, které už stály na řece Tyne. Díky svému netradičnímu návrhu se stal vyhledávanou turistickou zajímavostí. V roce 2003 obdržel od institutu pozemního stavitelství hlavní cenu za konstrukční kvalitu. (cs)
- Die Gateshead Millennium Bridge in England ist die erste Brücke, die um die Längsachse durch ihre Angelpunkte rotiert werden kann, um Schiffen die Passage unter der Brücke zu ermöglichen. Technisch ist es eine Kippbrücke und ermöglicht Fußgängern und Radfahrern eine bequeme Überquerung des Flusses Tyne fast ebenerdig.Die Brücke verbindet die Nachbarstadt Newcastle mit der Konzerthalle The Sage Gateshead und dem Museum , die sich beide in Gateshead befinden. Das Bauwerk planten die Bauingenieure Gifford and Partners aus Southampton zusammen mit dem Architekturbüro WilkinsonEyre Architects aus London. Die Brücke besteht aus einem horizontalen Bogen, Deck genannt, der zum Überqueren des Flusses dient. Ein zweiter Bogen, der in der Ausgangsstellung nach oben ragt, ist zur Stabilisierung durch Seile mit dem Deck verbunden. Dieses Konstrukt kann durch acht Motoren (insgesamt 433 kW) entlang der Verbindungslinie der beiden Auflagepunkte nach oben gekippt werden (bis 45°), so dass Schiffe unterhalb der Brücke passieren können. Da die Brücke dabei an ein blinzelndes Auge erinnert, trägt sie den Spitznamen „Blinking Eye“. Die Millennium Bridge ist, wie einige andere Brücken Großbritanniens, auf der Rückseite einer Ein-Pfund-Kursmünze abgebildet. Die Brücke wurde am 17. September 2001 der Öffentlichkeit übergeben. 2003 wurde die Brücke mit dem Supreme Award der Institution of Structural Engineers ausgezeichnet. 2004 erhielten das Bauwerk sowie seine Architekten und Ingenieure den Outstanding Structure Award der IABSE.
