- The Desert Patrol Vehicle (DPV), formerly called the Fast Attack Vehicle (FAV), is a high-speed, lightly armored sandrail-like vehicle first used in combat during the Gulf War in 1991. Das Fahrzeug wurde in den 1980er Jahren produziert und wurde während des Zweiten Golfkriegs erstmals der Öffentlichkeit bekannt. Mitglieder des SEAL Team 3 wurden beim Erreichen von Kuwait, das von den irakischen Truppen fluchtartig verlassen worden war, als erste alliierte Einheiten überhaupt gefilmt. Il était précédemment appelé Fast Attack Vehicle (FAV, soit « véhicule rapide d'attaque »). Grâce à sa vitesse de pointe élevée et sa très bonne capacité tout-terrain, le DPV a été utilisé de manière intensive pendant l'opération « Tempête du désert ». Les premières troupes américaines à être entrées dans la ville de Koweït étaient des SEAL dans leurs DPV. (fr)
