- BR řada 390 (známá také jako britské pendolino) je anglický rychlovlak. Jedná se o elektrickou jednotku určenou pro britskou hlavní napájecí soustavu 25 kV 50 Hz AC. Jezdí na vysokorychlostní trati West Coast Main Line, kde s jednotkou řady 350 tvoří páteřní vozidlo této trati. Patří společnosti Virgin Trains. Jednotky jsou postavené na rychlost 225 km/h. V provozu zatím ale jezdí jen 200 km/h. To se však může změnit, jelikož se možná zvýší maximální rychlost na West Coast Mail Line. Zatím se tak však nestalo. Jednotky byly vyrobeno, aby nahradily pomohli starším elektrickým lokomotivám řady 90 a nahradily staré řady a , postavené v šedesátých a sedmdesátých letech (řada 390 byla postavena v letech 2001–2004 a 2009–2012). Původně bylo vyrobeno 57 souprav. Jedna však byla sešrotována v důsledku nehody u , jež se stala 23. února 2007. (cs)

- The British Rail Class 390 Pendolino is a type of electric high-speed passenger train operated by Avanti West Coast in the United Kingdom, leased from Angel Trains. They are electric multiple units using Fiat Ferroviaria's tilting train Pendolino technology and built by Alstom. Fifty-three units were originally built between 2001 and 2004 for operation on the West Coast Main Line (WCML). They were ordered as 8-car units, later extended to 9 cars, of which some were then lengthened further to 11 cars. These new 11-car trains were renumbered as the subclass 390/1. The trains of the original batch were the last to be assembled at Alstom's Washwood Heath plant, before its closure in 2005. The remaining trains in the fleet were built in Italy. The Class 390 Pendolino is one of the fastest domestic electric multiple units operating in Britain, with a design speed of 140 mph (225 km/h); however, limitations to track signalling systems restrict the trains to a maximum speed of 125 mph (200 km/h) in service. The fleet is maintained at Longsight TMD near Manchester Piccadilly station. From 2021 a refurbishment program to upgrade the fleet to “as new” condition was begun, involving conversion of one first-class carriage to standard class to increase capacity, power plugs and new customer information screens among other upgrades.
