- Die Universität Täbris oder auch Täbris-Universität (persisch دانشگاه تبریز Daneschgah-e Tabriz) ist eine staatliche Universität in der Stadt Täbris der Hauptstadt der Provinz Ost-Aserbaidschan. Vor der islamischen Revolution im Jahre 1979 hieß sie Universität von Azarabadegan. Sie ist die zweitälteste Universität Irans nach der Universität Teheran und das größte Bildungsinstitut im Nordwesten Irans. Gegründet wurde die Universität am 12. Juni 1946 von Dschafar Pischewari. Die Universität startete ihren Lehrbetrieb im Jahr 1947 mit den Fakultäten Literatur und Medizin. Inzwischen beträgt die Zahl der immatrikulierten Studenten etwa 24.000 und die der akademischen Mitarbeiter 800. (de)

Es la segunda universidad más antigua del país luego de la Universidad de Teherán y el instituto académico más grande del noroeste de Irán. La universidad fue establecida en primer momento por el gobierno autónomo comunista de Azerbaiyán bajo el mando de Jafar Pishevari, quien abogaba por la ocupación soviética en el norte de Irán; esta primera fundación fue realizada el 12 de junio de 1946 y fue bautizada con el nombre de Universidad de Azerbaiyán (Azerí: Azerbaycan Universiteti) con facultades en Medicina, Agricultura y Pedagogía. La universidad cerró pronto en noviembre con la caída del gobierno autónomo. Fue reabierta el 30 de octubre de 1947, fecha que es tomada en la actualidad como la verdadera fecha de fundación. Previo a la Revolución Islámica de 1979, la universidad fue bautizada con el nombre de Universidad de Azarbadegán, para luego ser llamada Universidad de Tabriz. En 1985 el ministro iraní de Salud, Tratamiento y Educación Médica intervino en los departamentos y facultades de ciencias médicas para crear una institución independiente que hoy se llama la Universidad de Tabriz de Ciencias Médicas. It is one of the top five high-ranked universities in Iran and one of the ten most selective universities in the country. The University of Tabriz is the second-oldest university in Iran after the University of Tehran, and has the second largest campus area in the country which is the biggest academic institution in northwest of the country. The university is also a member of the Caucasus University Association. Today, Funding for the University of Tabriz is provided by the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology. Admission to the university for Iranian applicants is through national entrance examination which is administered annually by the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology and for international applicants through some exclusive regulations.
